I joined this wiki because: I am sick of CBS cancelling good shows or allowing shows to become generic when they had something unusual (Numb3rs comes to mind). Jericho has a fantastic cast and they have been well-directed in compelling dramas against a back-drop of the sort of catastrophe Twilight Zone used to do so well. Even while people were living their private lives in the first season, they were learning just how much their own good fortune depended on how the community was doing. As the seasons turn, they have to battle even bigger monsters than they ever imagined, but the community is more cohesive. Real knowledge about what happened to them has taken them out of the Twilight Zone, but into an uncertain contest of forces, where they must literally fight their "rulers".
The best word to describe me is: Analytical
Interests: Writing, solving puzzles
Favorite movies: Three Days of the Condor, Chinatown, Gone with the Wind, Henry V, Sense and Sensibility, The Lords of Dogtown, Gladiator, various Mutiny on the Bounty adaptations, The Patriot, Apocalypto, Black Hat, The Mission, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Lord of the Rings
Favorite TV shows:
My hero(es):Father Junipero Serra (sans Native American abuse); Thomas Jefferson (the one who was unable to reconcile his private life with his ideal, but who kept on slugging); Willa Cather (who saw ordinary people making history and wrote about them); Benjamin Franklin; a Puritan ancestor (lived his 100 years from Elizabeth to the Restoration), Stephen Batchelder, who gave up London for the wilderness of New England, and then returned when he had established all of his grandchildren as settlers; Maria Montessori (who understood that children learn spontaneously); Jeremiah F. Healy, III, who left twenty years of law teaching to pursue his writing full-time
My superpower is: A reach which exceeds its grasp
If I could live anywhere, it would be:California
My dream job(s):Writing screenplays
What else you should know about me: I went to law school, went the distance and passed the bar on the second try, and then decided it wasn't for me. I understand why one of the scriptwriters for Jericho might have found more fun in what he is doing than in pursuing the legal trade
