So, why don't the majority of Americans want to hear it? Or think about it? Or prepare for it? When it happens they'll just lay down and die without a fight? I wonder.

"wow. the sheet thing sounds clever. does it work over bedroom windows too? would be interesting to know just in case the occassion ever arises (considering my room is closest to the evaporative cooler in our roof i get a chilly blast in summer whenever its on heh) and also, yeah i think a world without neccessities would be interesting. just as long as i adapt enough to be able to charge my ipod off a car battery (oh wait, theyre called car ipod docks :)... ) without my music i would prob. go postal and take out a city block..
having lived without gas at least, i can tell you now using a gas stove gets hard. you turn the knob and wait patiently ;)" Yes, Moeman32, the sheet thing will work over bedroom windows as well as a doorway. Just not as effecient. As for the modern equivalent of a radio ( I-pods, etc) I'm sure some of the younger genration will probably go crazy because they won't be able to listen to what they call music, but I also think they will soon realize that they just might have a good voice of their own and start using it. Besides, there won't be that much time to be listening to music of whatever caliber - there will be much to do like hunting for edible food and getting fuel of whatever can be found.
