1. Ravenwood was trying to overthrow the US gob
2. Hawking was a undercover agent, that suddenly got 24 hrs notice and realized that he can sdave a city and his family, but not save all cities at the same time, so he choose one city and his family and his lover. 3. China was worries the US will split and there will be to many loose nuclear weapons, so they do a EMP to control technology without proper control 4. the US splits and many "presidents" appear, the missels are one "president" fighting another 5. Ravenwood is at first helping FEMA but as the goberment colapses, they go in bussiness by thenselves. errors; short radio wave operators are numerous and there should be easy shor wave going around, short wave bounces at night and you will get stations very far away, in Texas you can get radio from south america late at night. if FEMA is doing a reverse 911 they will not spend all that energy (a whole day and don't do any signal. areas asFort Bliss, Nellis Kallin, White Snads with very lasrge military bases appear not to be affected will facilitate rescue. there was no fallout in jericho but there was in the city with the medicine, so the medicine should be contaminated It is hard to believe that 9-12 nuclear explosions will collapse the US goverment, specially since those sistems are not centralized

I don't think Sara was kidnapped at all, I think she was setting up Hawkins all along, and the kidnapping was to try and push Hawk into 'delivering the package' to Chicago. Just my two cents, guess we'll find out tonight!

Okay...now we know it's Sarah(Mystery Woman). She appears to have been kidnapped, but with her showing up at Jericho, it appears to me that she is perhaps standing in for "See you soon" or has she escaped? Mystery is right...she could be on either side( the bomb strikers or the bomb hijackers) right now!

1) Yes i believe hawkin was a federal agent that infiltrated the organization
2) I believe these attacks came with the intent to overthrow the US goverment it said the presidents ratings were in the 20% range plus dont forget what the white man said to hawkins and the rest of the guys when they recieved their packages plus in the scene from the next episode when jake ask the man wheres the president he replies which ones granite he could be talking about the vice president but i believe this was a koo to overthrow the goverment maybe the men had help from an outside goverment maybe it was a buisness deal so im not sure but i think it definatly was a coo

Oh and I agree that we need to see the characters develop however, I also agree not to take an over soap operatic approach. Most people want to see the horror of “what if this really happen…” the Mad-Max or end of the world fascination. Scary but true look at movies like Mad-Max, Deep Impact, Armageddon, and alike all did fairly well in the box office and DVD market. As for DVD when will Season 1 be available on DVD?

As far fetched as it sounds what if the Government let this happen and tried to stop it but not in time? Bolster the war engine, Presidential ratings, or what have you. Also a coup d'état is also possible. Where is the Vice President and the other cabinet members? I believe in the trailer to this week several cabinet members are claiming the Presidency. In the meantime Hawkins called his lover to tell her the time was moved up. Both of whom I believe are Federal agents (CIA, NSA); remember she was on the laptop as well looking over targets. He ran to get the Kids (first priority) and his wife out of harm’s way. What if Jericho was the place he was supposed to relocate to after the terrorist were stopped? He had a FBI badge and ID just in case anyone was to question him like in a pervious episode. Moreover, would Ravenwood have access to passport information? Hawkins logged in to some national database and looked up Jake. As for Jake where did he get all that training as well (medical, weapons, etc..). I mean do you show up at mercenary school and take classes? He had to have some prior military training to learn weapons, and aircraft I would think. You wouldn’t take a “green-horn” (no pun intended) into battle protecting your behind would you? I wouldn’t. In any case I love this series it brings what today’s shows are missing –suspense and intrigue. Reality TV is getting dull let’s hope the writers of this show don’t. Keep up the good work!

Given what Ravenwood was apparently doing (in the background stuff on Jake in this episode), I wonder if they might be the group responsible for it all. They may want to set up a similar situation to wha they do in Afghanistan and Iraq here in the US. Given the apparent large amounts of weapons sales and transfers they are doing, them having the means to carry out the attack isn't completely out of the question.
That's my theory anyways. :-)

They seem to be painting Hawkins as a bad guy.....I hope he is not. I really like a character who seems to have thoughtful insight. My only hope for him to still be an upstanding guy is that he was undercover for the good guys and infiltrated the bad guys.....He got to a point of knowing the attacks could not be stopped (but may have warned some of his seniors), so he snagged his family and fled, but did NOT nuke the city the bad guys assigned to him. As to a general warning not being issued to the masses if the attacks were known to be coming, it seems to be often speculated that the overwelming panic would be as distructive as the attack......also, since many inteligent operations seem to be very compartimalized, Hawkins may only of know of the city he was assigned and knew he would not nuke...the Presidnets speech could have been prerecored.....may not.......just some thoughts/hopes

i was watchin the countdown episode 12 and tied it very nicely to the new episode. when hawkins was with the terrorist guy or whatever he was. The terrorist handed him a folder that said Colombus, OH. I guess where hawkins was supposed to drop the bomb off to explode but never did. On the countdown episode the location he was given from tango were coordinates that hawkins was to go and live there. and then hawkins responded thats 1000 miles. and it is approx 1000 miles from Columbus,OH to approx where Jericho would fictionally located. Just bored so if anyone gave a shit enough to read that. i thought it was interesting

so as i undersand it jake worked in iraq and afganistan as a piolet " one of there best there is" along with his buddy after they left the war they started to run weps for mercinarys for some extra cash. but this ravenwood found out they were opting out so he killed jakes friend. gona jump around a bit here in a earlyier episode ravnwood was rummigin though a medical center and towns neer denver and we know he is a mercinary who is workin inside the u.s.a who was workin 4 the sates but turned on the states 4 a unknow reason and for that reason ravenwood is a good posibility for the initial attacks on the states as he was allready in the states to set them up.

The State of The Union never happens during daylight hours, nor does it ever happen during baseball season.

Jake and his buddy who formerly worked for Ravenwood were at a beach. However, it was never explicitly stated that they were in CA, was it? They could have been in southern Texas (Gulf coast), which could account for the beach atmosphere and is within a one day drive of Kansas.
I don't think Hawkins works for Ravenwood, as he was risking identification when they raided the hospital. He (and Sarah) could be undercover espionage agents who infiltrated the cell, and when he found out about the attacks feared more for his family. Remember, he went back for Sarah and she was gone (already kidnapped). I don't think he ever intended to deliver the bomb to Columbus. However, it would take almost 24 hour driving to go from the DC area to the center of Kansas, and how could he do it without getting tired. Remember, he couldn't trust his wife to assist in the driving. How were the bombs delivered to the places completely across the country? I wouldn't be surprised if Ravenwood has something to do with it in the end.

Jake was at the bus station in Albuquerque, Which is a 5 hour train ride to Denver and then only a three hour drive to the supposed location of Jericho.
