Emily and Eric enter Gray's office to show him the new high school textbooks Jennings & Rall expect Emily to use. They give a very definite revisionist history take to post-war (WWII) America. Among other things, the textbook implies that Vietnam was winnable but we pulled out too early in 1975, as well as stating the attacks were, essentially, a good thing because they allow for change. The ideas completely tie into Tomarchino'sTomarchio's speech later in the episode about creating a new America.

Darcy steals a secure walkie-talkie from the headquarters in order to cause a "crash" -- effectively a lock down -- and give Hawkins time to download information from the government computers in City Hall.

Jake meets a reporter from the Modesto Bee ("Now the second largest paper in California") at Bailey's. He later tries to enlist the help of this reporter in blowing the story of the Cheyenne government wide open, but the reporter is murdered before he even leaves Jericho.

Gray is enlisted in the effort of a Constitutional Convention, to be convened soon in Cheyenne. Tomarchino'sTomarchio's goal is to create an "Allied States of America" that encompasses everything west of the Mississippi -- the Blue Line -- and dominate the "weak" former government now centralized in Columbus.

Though Chavez is caught, Beck becomes very suspicious. Beck runs the ID Chavez is using (Parker), only to find out after "Parker" is on his way to a maximum security prison that Parker died in 2003. From that, Beck deduces that Chavez is Black Ops. Chavez escapes his cuffs (after Jake slips him the keys) and subdues the soldiers in the transport Jeep, freeing himself to head to Texas with the info needed to keep Texas from joining Cheyenne. Beck is suspicious of Jake, but seems to accept his "I heard he was a spook, so I figured he slipped his cuffs" line. Beck is then reamed by Valente via video link about Chavez's escape and Beck's inability to find the terrorist Mason and informed that an independent contractor will be arriving to assume day-to-day control of Jericho.

Stanley manages to put his foot in his mouth when teasing Mimi about who she might invite to the wedding -- only to have Bonnie smack him and remind him Mimi has no one to invite. Stanley later asks Trish from Jennings & Rall to track down Mimi's family. They're unable to find anyone. When Stanley and Bonnie tell Mimi this, she tears up a bit and says she will have her family there: Stanley and Bonnie.

Before Gray leaves for the Convention, he asks Eric to be acting mayor in his absence. Emily later says she's missed hearing "Mayor Green".

The end of the episode brings the independent contractor Valente informed Beck would be arriving. Beck exits City Hall to meet them. The contractor is Ravenwood.
