Any TV programming experts out there? What's up with Jericho after cancellation? This is a featured page

I would like to get more info on how cancelled shows are handled. I think it would be informative for the fans of Jericho. Specifically, here are the questions:

1. Sometimes shows switch channels. I can think of a few, Buffy the Vampire, Stargate, Outer Limits. Can this happen with Jericho or not? It sounds like CBS has the rights to this show, cancelled or not for another year? Will CBS hold Jericho just in case they want a mid-season replacement next year? (after all their new shows next year bomb) Is there any reason/incentive for CBS to let this show go to another channel? Wouldn't this just be creating competition for it's own shows?

2. Can the Jericho producers do anything to save there own show? What's going on there? Can they shop it? When do the actors get released from their Jericho contracts?

Any info appreciated!

I think the fans are doing a great job with the petition, sending in nuts, etc. Let's keep the activity going!

I'm hearing some rumors TNT is intersted in Jericho. There are over 500 posts encouraging TNT to pick up Jericho. I encourage everone to go over there and tell them what a great idea that is.

If CBS has exclusive rights to the show, its my viewpoint that they have no intention of selling these rights to another competing network. Overall, CBS top-dogs know this was a hit show and rather kill it off than give it to the competition. There are personal agendas being made behind the doors at CBS that the public is unaware of. Someone up top in CBS is basically "NUTS!" or has a strong liberal bent and saw Jericho and the ideas expressed in the show as countering their ideas and views on life. Everything I've read points directly back to the President at CBS for making the decision, so more than likely she/he has a personal grudge against the show and had to back the decision's with a common statement as to why it was canceled. "Low Ratings", Bah, 8 million viewers is a lot of viewers and they didn't take into account other ways people were watching the show. Heck, I watch the entire series online because I never knew the days Jericho was on once they came back from that season break.

Since I only watch Jericho on CBS, I'm not going to make to big a dent on their viewership. They just don't have any other programing worth watching. Jericho type programming and shows is the direction they need to go, not Reality shows. Can you believe, they replaced Jericho with an untested Kid based reality show? CBS is just "NUTS!" thats explains everything in one word.
