I know this might be a stretch, but I think the ASA (or parts of it) were a part of the attacks. Think about it, shortly after the attacks, this new goverment suddenly formed, began expanding thier terrority, changed the flag, and within weeks were handing out new history books with thier point of view on US history. (The heading on the page that the mayor looks at reads "The fall of the first republic 1945-present" and has chapters on every major conflict and for some reason the Nixon years).
I just think that it's a bit much for a senator from Wyoming to not only declare himself president, but to make such sweeping changes and agressive moves by himself. Maybe President Tomarchio is just a pawn or poster boy for the actual factions that led the attacks aganist America. Course I may be wrong, but this is just my opinion.

I've been seeing around here that the attacks were 20 kiloton devices - which would put them somewhere between improvised nuclear device and tactical nuclear weapon. However, I'm sure that in Hawkins' flashbacks that they referred to the weapons as "20-megaton enhanced radiation" devices.
I know I'm a noob here - I haven't found all the nooks and crannies yet, so if I'm posting this in the wrong place I apologize. Can you point me to the figures? I'm casually curious to see if I'm in the A.S.A or if I don't have to worry about it.

The dot seems way too low and a bit too far to the west. It looks like Romulus, Michigan was hit instead. That is where the airport is and the nuke plant is a few miles away.

OKC has Tinker AFB, its an ALC and repair center for the B-52 and B-1 bomber, plus it has AWACS Wing. its central location makes it one of the most difficult places to attack, at least for a regular Soviet-style enemy...

Has that been published anywhere? I know that, preceding the episode that occurs on/about Halloween, the screen reads "four weeks after the attacks" (paraphrased). So, I know the attacks took place in late September or early October. Is there a specific day?

I remember them mentioning People from Montana going south, but I never really heard much else about it, was there any cities in Montana that where hit by the attack? or was Montana completly skipped over by the terrorists? If so why? Most of the cities here in Montana hold alot of US History, Butte, Virginia City, ect..

The fact that San Antonio is not on either the "hit" or "not hit" list is rediculous. It has something like 5 or 7 Air Force bases, and also has the Army's largest medical treatment and training facility in the country. By looking at the list of cities "not hit" it is apparent that these were attacks against the culture of the United States, not the military (and therefore not a precursor to invasion), at least not if this really happened. With places Norfolk, San Antonio, and Pearl Harbor left untouched, the Air Force and Navy would still have an excellent ability to respond to any invasion force. And although some of the hit cities are near army installations, with having so many bases spread across the country in areas unaffected like Alaska, Oklahoma, etc. (plus major units stationed in Germany and elsewhere), the army would also be able to respond quite well. Which actually makes it odd that they have shown a "Balck Water" type security group in operation, but no army units. Stretched as thin as the army is, a disaster like this would warrant the immediate activation of all National Guard and Reserve units, which are the largest element of the militray and are literally in nearly every community state.... odd. In fact it's odd that they didn't portray at least a few of the residents of Jericho as reserve members (unless I missed it somewhere), as most of the Guard and Reserve is made up of people from rural areas.

If you've followed the Hawkins thread, the strikes are founded from internal terrorists groups--members would be people like Timothy McVay. There might have been Al Qaeda-type groups involved, but that's not relavant to the plot that the series is taking. All we know for sure is that a single leader organized these groups to act together in a nuclear strike. To find the truth behind the motivation, we need to know about this leader--he is the single most important factor to find the reasoning behind the bombs. And the last couple of episodes has made clear--he's someone who was high up inside the CIA.
The strike was designed to cause the most possible chaos and economic damage possible. If the targets were military, then Columbus, Ohio would have been no where on the list--there's nothing military there. Colorado Springs, CO would have been top of the list due to the NORAD headquarters there underneath Cheyenne Mountain, along with Peterson AFB, Fort Carson Army base, and Shriever AFB--with Shriever particularly important due to its relationship with NORAD--and the Air Force Academy there would have been a nice bonus. But there is no mention of Colorado Springs as being hit or not hit. And, as mentioned in other comments, many other military targets were left off the list. At this point it's obvious--no invasion is immenint--the strikes are solely terrorist in nature.

Why would Germany or China send humanitarian aid to a country that is obviously in the grip of civil war or unrest? Unless this has hit globally, which I doubt it has, only the USA is involved. So why get messages of "Do Not Fight, China is your friend". Do they possibly have something to do with the Dept of Homeland Security secretary being the mastermind behind it all?

NORAD USED to be near denver and such but has since moved, still thats only the US office (with the head of norad and a few canadians added) but there is still the NORAD base in Canada (with second in command there) exactly why they have too so they can't both be taken out at once

God damn, well who ever did do the attacking did plenty of there home work and had plenty of intel to back up their conclusions of where to have the greatest damage. Well lets break it down a little.
First we have the hits Atlanta, this one of the major and most crutial transportation hubs in america, if they took out this not only would we lose at least half the rappers and hip-hop artist, but a vital utility for masstransportation. This is also a place where hundres of thasounds of tons of food come to this country each day. Second, Chicago this is another major major recourse for this country not only is it the third largest trading market and finical district for America. In this hit we lose Oprah, but we lose two other major airports. Along with a us navy traning grounds. There is a huge port there as well. Third and my favorite we have Detroit there we have two military bases as well as the best bassball and basketball teams in the country. There also happens to be the 8th largest port in the county. Fourth we have San Diego, well this does take care of a major issue, immigration no one wants in anymore. This is the largest us Navy and USMC base on the whole western border. Here we lose the abbility to defend our selves from invaders. I know from my time living in that area that no matter where you placed the bomb in the city if it took out Denver and other large siced citys it would for surely have taken out the bases. For that we lose at least min one aircraft fleet, most three. Thats 30-45 ships. Fith well due to the fact that the president would have been in a "safe" place we would have game over with this one Washington, DC. This spells it all the whole inchilida. Possible hits. St. Louis- Seattle, WA- Los Angeles- The are all large population areas. With Seattle we lose starbucks now for some that is no big woop. For other the world really did just end. But Seattle and St.Louis have military bases close by and are comercial centers.
