"I've been thinking that everyone here is under the mistaken impression that the man's name is Johnson Greene. Well, it ain't. It's "JohnSTON" (can't remember if it is Green with an "e" - think not).

WHY does that name resonate for me, why did I remember it? Ever seen the Civil War series? There were two Confederate Generals named Johnston, Joseph Johnston and Albert Sidney Johnston. Albert was the bold one, and he was killed in the bloody battle (is there any other kind?) of Shiloh (where some of my own ancestors fought -- each other I think).

Okay, so Grandpa Green, with his love of history, has named his boys for Civil War generals? Maybe.
So let Josh have the name of another general, perhaps a Yankee one. Let me suggest one my father loved, General Thomas, whose monument is found today in DuPont Circle, Washington DC (I believe). The "Rock of Chicamauga".... Of course "Thomas" seems like a normal name. So he would have to remind people that it is a surname given him for the Yankee general by his even-handed Grandpa....

I know this is elaborate, but in this sense, McRaney's successor can come back in style and "represent" for my generation."
