Is whoever wrote that kidding? The US has something like 30 million or so armed citizens with something like 100+ million weapons. Easily overrun, I think not. Why has every dictator confisaced all the weapons in a country as one of their first acts. The death toll to an invader of US soil would be millions. Go on all you anti gun nuts, let me have it.

Watch the shows with the commentary. The female producer says the ICBM's did not cause the EMP. Yet she says the ICBM's did hit their targets.

Good theory; just curious what are the odds that the second wave was an ICBM attack and that the US missiles going up were interceptors?

I was in the US Air Force Security Police. I do not know all the workings of an ICBM. But I know a few things. The missiles are built in hardened silo's. With farm fields all around them. The command bunker that launces them are several miles away and are also hardened facilities built under ground. The command bunker also has (blank) number of Air Force SP's providing security above ground. These things are designed to with stand anything but possibly a direct hit with a nuke. Also the US goverment has many op plans to deal with a first strike attack. So even if the president/football was taken out. They have op plans on what to do if that happens. During the cold war we use to have 3 command and control planes. One of them were always flying 24/7. Just for such an incident of all the leadership of the US and military were destroyed. Also NORAD had a link in the command and control. The military has been re-organized after the cold war. But we hope they still have op plans like we had during the cold war.

those were US nukes if they were minutemen. (and they are.) do you think the US would give some of their most valuable technology to their possible enemies? Also if they are minuteman then those were launched from nearby because those things are ICBMs they are supposed to go into outer space. also all that shaking was from the launch of the missiles if anything related to the missiles. also if anything, the white house, the pentagon, and the other places capable of retaliatory action most likely taken out in the DC and other blasts. The US leaders would not have had a chance to survive because the blasts were most likely suicide blasts and not missiles, and because of that the leaders were most likely not warned. (remember episode 1 and the radio in the car going out as he saw the blast in Denver. the radio was playing a live speech by the president.) also the football would be kept near the president at all times.
there fore it leads me to believe that the missiles were from one silo near jerico that lost contact with the other silos and possibly followed on a contingency plan. or it could have been taken by rebels. |

Maybe the missles we saw going up caused the EMP pulse to disable any other nukes that might be in the country.

If they were launched as an attack on another country. Whether for retaliation, or to draw another country into a way, is open to question.
However suppose they were intercepted and detonated early, thus causing an EMP over the US, which was not the original intention?

I saw in an ad for the show a scene from the new episodes where there was a brand new mushroom cloud. It showed hawkins wife and kids seeing it in the distance. So, this may be a third wave, because i believe the second has occured.

I truly believe that the 2nd wave of attacks has occured already, quite possibly a 3rd. Somehow I doubt that whether we are at war with another country, terrorist organization or civil war, that it will end with a few strikes. In review of sneak peaks and stills from future episodes, in BLACK JACK preview and with a still from that episode, they have a map of the US showing cities that have been hit. There are more cities hit that in the initial cities shown by Hawkins map. Los Angeles appears as hit on the map at the fairgrounds, however, in Fallout, LA was not hit. Now perhaps this is due to limited contact and information at the time of fallout, however, if that were the case, how would 2 major Pacific coast cities so close in proximatey (San Diego & Frisco) show as hit with LA not in the mix.
I also believe that the EMP was a totally seperate missile in and of itself, launched as possibly a pretentative or retaliatory strike against the missles that were launched. I honestly believe that there will be several strikes to come, and this will be a drawn out war, as long as the show continues on into additional seasons. |

Not really, in the 9\11 attacks we were told by several nations that if we didn't do anything about it they would turn the offending country into a glow-in-the-dark kitty litter box. Seeing what kind of damage would be done. I think they would be seeking further proof before striking back. Now, from what I remember, I think the E-bombs were outbound missles from our own silos.

I'm not sure about the retaliatory strike thing, though. If we knew who had done it, wouldn't we have already nuked the heck out of them by now?
