The Pilot of "Jericho" reminded me of the famous Gregory Peck film, "On the Beach." Here's a plot summary from the IMDB:
In 1964, nuclear war wipes out humanity in the northern hemisphere; one American submarine finds temporary safe haven in Australia, where life-as-usual covers growing despair. In denial about the loss of his wife and children in the holocaust, American Captain Towers meets careworn but gorgeous Moira Davidson, who begins to fall for him. The sub returns after reconnaissance a month (or less) before the end; will Towers and Moira find comfort with each other?

I heard that there was a DVD of season one to be released on 9/25?? That would be G-R-E-A-T, that is my birthday. If so we will drive all the way into town that nigh just to get it that Tuesday. I really dont know how to get around all these different sites to get my question answered.

i have to work every friday night, so i can't see the new shows. please put the new ones online asap - i'm so anxious to see them! (online is how i was able to watch episode 1 as well)

I really enjoyed watching Jericho and just wanted you to know that I appreciate being let down by the fac that it isn't going to end. That's okay because now you can put on another lame reality show.
It is bad enough that you took a break in the middle of the storyline, just as you started to build steam and gain fans. |

I've noticed that several plot lines are reminicenient of the classic novel "Alas Babylon" by Pat Frank. Take for instance, the town barbeque at gracies store(The great steak orgy of
the book). Also the whole "Militia" angle of the story,"...Babylons" hero Randy Bragg, a Korean War Officer does the same thing in his town of Fort Repose, Fl. The only outside influence is the "Chinese"angle, and the hidden conspiracy. Not withstanding, I love the show, and in ancicipation of the show being canceled(for emotional reasons) I have already recorded all of the episodes.

I confess I'm losing interest in the show. The characters I cared about [Heather w/ Jake hopefully; April and her baby;] These seemed like real people who were coping in honorable ways with extraordinary events. The way I hope I and others I know would do. WHY do the writers think we care about someone like Emily [who seems better casted in 'Housewives of OC'] or Mary the bar fly? Emily finds her fiance only to shrug when he is shunned after standing up for the fugitives. She lightly offers to go with him and then quickly acceeds when he says "it's too dangerous for you out there." Well of course! That's how I'd respond if my loved one was going out into the unknown and I'd likely never see him again. Yes, she is that shallow, folks. Than there's Mary who steals another woman's husband, keeps him in her bed when he should be at home taking care of his pregnant wife. Then the wife dies along with the baby, and we're supposed to care about Mary because she is donating her 'still' time to creating disinfectant for the med center. Why how generous! That's an afternoon or two she will lose from creating rot gut to keep the community in booze. Yes, after 9/11 that is just how we saw people react! The writers need to take a 'wake up pill' or something. If they want us to care about these characters, they need to concentrate on creating and keeping caring characters!

I know this is a small town and most people know each other , but when people get hungry they will get greedy real fast. The show is great but doesn't reflect how people would really react. Also when do they get a real Sheriff, the old one was killed so why not elect a new one? This town needs one real bad. The two clown Deputies need help. One small critiicism is that these people must have had the largest stash of candles, flashlight batteries, and razor blades on earth before this happened.

Well, ever since i missed the last 2 episodes, I've been going out of my mind. I've tried to find a lind up that would let me watch the show online, but it hasnt worked. Im not going to give up, CBS was gracious enough to fulfill its viewers needs by giving this gift on innertube, now i must do what i can until i find out why it is not wording. If someone would just look, just check in, just try so see what is going on. If maybe another veiwer/fan would contact me, let me know if its the same everywhere, or tell me how it ges. I just wish someone would throw me a lifeliine!!!

I just want to know where the hell everyone is getting their gasoline, and how they are paying for it. A simple hurricane last year caused such havoc, it caused prices to shoot through the roof as supplies dwindled. They must be paying $50.00/gal in Jericho by now...but with all those vehicles driving around all day, I have yet to see anyone stop for gas.
