Meet the actor: Kenneth MitchellEric Green

What we know:

Youngest son of Johnston Green according to the biography on Jericho on CBS - Character Bios. After law school, he returned to town and walked the expected societal path of marriage and a house with a white picket fence while Jake ran off to be the wild one.

His underlying jealousy of Jake is palpable. His character is reminiscent of Tristan Ludlow's (Brad Pitt) older brother in "Legends of the Fall" who declared, "I followed all the rules, god's, man's... but they loved you more."

He has, however, reconciled enough with Jake so that they can work towards common goals. They balance each other out.

It was only Eric's quick thinking, when he summoned Jonah to the bridge, that saved Jake's life. His actions in the hospital in Rogue River established his deep, physical bravery under duress.

His abandonment of his wife, April, for barkeep, Mary, shows he's not above bucking social convention at this point.

His marriage to April was on its death bed when he finds out that April was pregnant. He regrets his decision to leave her, however, after she dies.

Eric Green - Jericho
What we don't know:
  • Will his relationship with Mary survive?
  • Will he eventually follow in his father's footsteps and become mayor of Jericho?

His role in the town:
Deputy Mayor (Episodes 1 - 11)

Family:
Brother to Jake, son to Gail and Mayor Johnston, widower to April.

He and his brother were apparently named after their grandfather, as his tombstone bears the name Eric Jacob Green.

Eric Green - JerichoHe was married to April, a doctor at the Medical Center until she died of complications from her pregnancy.

It was a rocky relationship, given his interest in Mary Bailey, and the fact that she was going to divorce him before the attack. He had just learned that April was pregnant, but the revelation of this did not cause him to change his mind about leaving her.

Before dying, April told Eric that she would have wanted to name their baby Tracy.

Romantic connections:
Mary Bailey (long time romantic interest), April (wife, deceased)

Eric's a slimeball. Not so much for the fact that he cheated on his wife but that he was obviously sleeping with both women at the same time, otherwise April wouldn't be pregnant. He cheated on both women. That's a slimeball.

He falls in love with Mary and that's fine, but if he's a good guy he goes to his wife and says it's over before hopping into the sack.

He played them both and if Mary had a backbone when she found out April was pregnant she'd have slugged him.
