No cars were heading towards it, just a few fire trucks and police cars. The Long Island Highway was filled with cars heading towards the Island. I turned on my radio. "We have reports that mushroom clouds have been seen over Boston and Washington D.C., General Howard P. Stark request that all United States Military troops please report to the nearest military base. All civilians are please asked to head towards the nearest fallout shelter. All New York Police Departments have been contacted and know what to do, the New York National Guard is now reporting to us...we have confirmation that the NYPD has found a Nuclear Bomb. It is unclear the size of the bomb. But the NYPD have shutdown the borders to the city. Only military and police officials are allowed in. All citizens must remain in their homes." I turned it off. I was almost there.
As I drove onto the bridge I was greeted by hundreds of police officers and soldiers. I got out my car and walked towards a man that appeared to be leading everyone. He was tall and has black hair. Is eyes held the look of war and his uniform held the look of a General. "Sir, I'm Sergeant Jacob Pierce of the United States Army. I'm ready to do whatever you need, sir." I said. He looked at me. "When did your last tour end?" He said to me. "Two days ago sir, I just got back home." I replied. He gave me a stern look. "Get into uniform and get on that Blackhawk. We're goanna need you to help get NYC ready for this. Understand?" I looked at him. "Sir, yes sir!" I got into uniform, they gave me an M-16 and I got onto the Blackhawk and headed to Times Square. In the weeks that followed, our chain of command became broken. The forces over in Texas seceded, we heard rumors that they became the Independent Republic of Texas.
Nobody knew who to take orders from. Albany was our first capital then it became Columbus, Ohio. Rumor had it that Cheyenne had become the Capital of Western America. Lets just say me and my boys had no clue where Cheyenne even was. Needless to say. In the weeks and battles that followed me and 13th Division became the 47th Urban Division of the United States Army and I had become the Major of the 11th New York Battalion aka "The Yankees". In the months that followed three nations came to power. The United States of America, based in Columbus, Ohio. The Texas Republic, based in San Antonio. Then the biggest of them all, the Allied States of America. Based in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I and the entire 47th Urban Division had been placed in Florida. It was much safer down South then up North. Thank god.
The men and I headed towards California. As we finally got out of Texas we saw something horrible. We had arrived in a empty town that was on a very large hill. Below us, was the Mexican Military and the Allied States Military. They were now working together. "Holy !#$!" I said as I looked down and saw the hundreds of tanks and the thousands of soldiers. I quickly got on my radio. "This is Jacob Pierce of the 47 Urban Division, from the 11th New York Battalion. Is Highcom aware that Mexico is helping the Allied States?" I said. "Yes, we are aware of the situation. It appears the Allied States says that if they win the war Mexico is free of debt. Looks like we're goanna have a lot of issues. Highcom out." I could only think about how deep in trouble we were. "Alright! We have the high ground. I want the RPG's and the tanks into position. Get the mortars ready. Understand?" The soldiers got moving. They put the mortars into place and got their RPG's ready. The tanks were ready and all of them men were too and so it began.
My men and I had rushed down the hill, the Mexicans the Allied Forces were using a destroyed town to transport troops and to act as rest stop. As I got down I began to open fire. The mortars soon were flying and had hit the targets dead on. The guns were soon blazing. I looked around, I saw Lt. Peters. He was behind a broken car. I looked at his eyes. He let loose all his ammo. He then shouted something, I couldn't hear what.
He took a breath and then ran towards me. I looked into his eyes. Then I heard the bang. The blood flew, his body dropped. A whole in his head, had taken away the features of this once lively and funny young man. I ran out, rifle blazing. I grabbed his body and brought it back over to the car. I just kept shooting, I must have killed have at least ten people. "James! Get your ass down here!" I shouted. James was the medic, another young kid fresh out of High School. He looked at the body. "Sir, he's already gone. I can't do anything for him" I gave out a tear, in the past few months Peters and I had become like brothers. "Help me get his body up to the town!" I shouted. I couldn't control myself. "Sir, we'll get killed if we try that. We'll get the body after the battle!" I started going nuts. "No! We have to get the body!" I shouted. He looked at me. "Sir, thats a crazy we'll get sho-" bang. A bullet went straight into his chest. The blood was flying everywhere. My body soaked in his blood and the Peters blood. "#)$!" I said to myself. I picked up James. I started carrying him up the hill. He still had a pulse. As I got up the steep hill, I felt bullet go into my leg. I tripped and fell down the hill. Both our bodies were falling. I fell into a tree. I coughed blood. I closed my eyes.
The Second American Civil War

FROM THE EYES OF A SOLDIER
Prelude-The Call of Duty
My tour had just ended, and it was my second day back home. I had lived in Long Island, New York. It was a wonderful September morning until the bombs went off. I had been watching the President speak to the nation. I feared I'd be sent on another tour. The T.V. went dead, I checked all channels. It was only fuzz. The phone rang. "This is General Howard P. Stark, we just got word that numerous mushroom clouds have appeared over major U.S. Cities. We've lost contact with Washington D.C. and we have confirmed that Denver, Colorado has been hit. We need to organize and figure out what is going on. Please report to the nearest military base. The air force has just confirmed that Boston is gone, holy crap.. and...oh wait..San Diego, San Francisco and Los Ang...." The phone went dead and the power went out. I was only twenty three, I wasn't married I had lived with a few military friends. All of which were still in the Middle East. I got into my car and drove off towards New York City.No cars were heading towards it, just a few fire trucks and police cars. The Long Island Highway was filled with cars heading towards the Island. I turned on my radio. "We have reports that mushroom clouds have been seen over Boston and Washington D.C., General Howard P. Thank god.
Chapter One-E Pluribus Unum
It was an afternoon in spring, we had gotten the news that the Cheyenne Government was behind the entire attack. We heard about how President Tomarchio use to work for Jennings & Rall. But most importantly we learned that Texas was on our side and that we had a fighting chance. "Major Pierce, where are we going to next?" A young private in my squad asked. "Private, I want you to load up the trucks. We're heading towards the Blue Line." The private got the trucks loaded. We took our last look at Florida. The sunshine state hadn't seen any sunshine in months. As we headed out towards the Blue Line we arrived outside a small city in Louisiana. The roads were blocked by cars piled together. "Sir, I think there might be some gang activity. Should we engage?" Lt. Peterson said. I had looked at him. "Do not engage, tell them what we have found out. Perhaps they'll rally for the cause." The sergeant nodded and ran off to get the radio. He managed to make contact with someone in the city. "This is Lt. Peterson of the U.S. National Guard. We've found out the Allied States of America caused the September attacks and that 23 American cities and millions of lives were lost because of them. We need to make our way to the Blue Line so we can overthrow there government. We please ask for your help to navigate this area." We all waited for a reply. "You got yourself a deal, we'll open the roadblock. Welcome to Louisiana!" Our forces moved slowly towards the city. We hid behind broken cars stuck in mud. We headed towards the blockade.

A group of armed men had opened up the roadblock, when we arrived we handed out the Hudson River Valley Virus Vaccine. The town had four hundred armed men. All of which pledged allegiance to the United States. The leader of the city, Paul Nelson had then spoken to me. "Major, I'm so glad you came. We've been waiting for aid for months. My forces are ready to follow your orders." I nodded and for the next week my troops had taught these refugees how to fight. We then got moving.
As we headed out I had four hundred more men, General David would be very glad. Six days later we arrived at the Texas Border. We were greeted by thousands of U.S. and Texas Soldiers. That's when I saw him, the famous General David. "Sir, I'm Major Pierce of the 47th Urban Division. I've brought four hundred refugees who all have weapons and wish to join the Army. I also have two hundred soldiers in my Division ready for battle, sir!" He looked at me. "Good Job, Major. Four hundred militiamen could really help us about now. The Allied States has broken the Blue Line. Looks like we're on the defence..not offense. I'm going to need you and the rest of the 47th Urban Division to help us out over in Texas. I'll have a Blackhawk waiting for you in the fields." He saluted me. I saluted back. I ran off and got my men ready. We headed towards the field where we saw the helicopter.

The helicopter took off, we had gotten six soldiers into it. The rest of the troops were going to drive. The flight was bumpy and it was getting dark outside. We started hearing loud thunder like noises. We then saw flashing lights. We saw the battlefield, where we were headed next. The helicopter came under fire. It managed to get us to the ground. None of us were ready for this type of battle. As we stepped down in this small Texas town. The guns were blazing. Soldiers were hiding behind cars and things everywhere were blowing up.

As I moved up the line, I couldn't figure out what was going on. Then I saw it, a Humvee with the flag of the Allied States. Three soldiers bearing the flag on there shoulders were shooting at my men. I unloaded my M-16 on them. All three fell to the ground. I had just killed three fellow American soldiers. What in gods name was happening to our nation. We headed towards the Humvee. We took the ammo and had planned our next move. "Alright, I guess the Allied States is gaining land in Texas. I want us to stay together, lets head south. I pretty sure I saw some other troops...not sure if they are ours or the ASA's."
Chapter Two-United We Stand
When we arrived in the other part of the city. All of the Allied States troops were dead. I looked around and saw the soldiers of the Texas Republic. Proudly putting up a United States Flag and a Texas Republic Flag. It was an amazing site, but it almost scared me. I could only think about how this was just a normal small city in Texas. Now it was home to the first battle of the Second American Civil War fought by the United States and Allied States. "Lt. Peters, 24th Urban Division, Texas Republic Army." I turned around and saw a young man. He could have been 20 at oldest. But his face held the look of war and death. "I'm Major Pierce of the 47th Urban Division of the United States Army. I've been sent here by the General to help regain Northern Texas from the Allied States." I said. The young man looked into my dark blue eyes. "We've lost three hundred men in the past six hours. Your a little late to help." He said in a somewhat angry matter. "Lt. Peters, this war just started. Three hundred men is nothing compared to whats coming." Lt. Peters and I had began to walk. The sun was finally coming out and we had collected all of the guns from the ASA Soldiers. "Major, how do you think this war is going to play out?" Peters said to me. "I think that Asia is goanna help out the Allied States and that nations like Britain and France are goanna join us. Its goanna be to close to call. But its leading towards World War III." I said with a grim look on my face. "Well then we sure as hell better end this here, sir." I nodded and then the tanks arrived. He let loose all his ammo. He then shouted something, I couldn't hear what.

Chapter Tree-Inside Job
I woke up. Infront of me was Peters, the Medic and another man. "Welcome back, Major Pierce." Peters said to me. I smiled. "Good to be back, who is this guy?" I said. I looked at the man. "I'm Robert Hawkins, the new Secretary of Defence of the United States of America." I smiled for a second. I was looking at the man who saved America. This is the guy who saved Columbus, Ohio and got the bomb to Texas. "Its great to meet you Mr.Hawkins. I'm a large a fan." Hawkins and I both laughed. I got out of bed. "So, where exactly are we?" Hawkins smiled. "Your in Sacramento." He said. "California?" He gave me a stern look. "North California, the newest state to our Union. Its also our new Naval Headquarters." I smiled. "How'd we get North California? What about the rest of California." I replied. "California seceded from the Allied States. Mexico helped keep the South in the Allied States. Thanks to our efforts in the East. The ASA wasn't able to take back the North part of California." I stopped to think about what he just said. A year ago I would have never thought that Mexico was going to invade California. What had the world come to. The next few days were good, Secretary Hawkins and I became good friends. He told me about his story, he told me about the small town Jericho. "So, are you ever going back?" I asked him one day. "I'm goanna try, I really want to reach my wife and kids. Its just too dangerous that close to Cheyenne." He replied. "Hawkins, I know I sound crazy but if we sent like two thousand men from the 49th Airborne. We could recapture Jericho, save your family and help other towns and small cities secede." He laughed. "All those years in the Middle East, made you a fool." I laughed. "But, you bring up a good point. If we could get a foothold in the middle of the ASA. We could take them down from the inside." The days that followed were planning. The ASA had no clue of what we were going to do. "Hawkins, are you sure you want to go. Its goanna be hard leading the military from some small town in Kansas." We laughed. "I'm no longer the Secretary of Defence. I'm now General Hawkins of the 47th Urban Division." I looked at him "Heh, you got demoted." He laughed. As we stepped onto the plane. We got ready for our mission. TO BE CONTINUED

Today 03/20/08 at 9.30am a man was arrested at his hotel room in Sydney, numerous objects of intrest were found in his brief case along with video and audio tapes hidden under the bed. A statement released by the Australian Ferderal Police is as follows:- We have been tracking this male for the past two weeks and have recordings of him speaking with a unknown person/s within the ASA goverment. We know he sent a message to the ASA telliing them that there was a large millitary build up in Townsville, when in fact our Armed forces were being moved to another location, this information he sent the ASA led to the Nuclear attack on Townsville. The audio and video tapes that we found are of a very sensitive nature and no details of the tapse will be discussed with the media or the civilian public.
That is all for now.

The question now I face as the Cell plots resistance strategies is whether we kill other Americans in order to defy the OSA. I argue that we target only J&R infrastructure but all bets are off for the mecenaries of Ravenwood. They take money to kill American so we'll take their lives.
However, this discussion maybe all mute because a storm is coming...another war between the States. The two toughest kids on the block are bound to fight no matter what those in the Blue line say. I have to go now. Lights out and all. Till the day of liberation.... Jim

home of the George's in England. We've begun storing arms. I'm also reaching out to some in ASA Army who can be influenced like Devon Winters a guy from Detriot...Sgt....whose begun to see the light in the darkness of the reality of the ASA. I know can be wordy...Hard not too. Still trying to impress I guess.
I can't really take stock of Major Santino. She's the strong silent type. It's really hard for to say this but I like her. Cheri is still very much apart me and Michael misses his "Mommy" terribly. Memories never leave...I dream at night of things long gone. Dan Exstrom, Scott Thorson....Alfonso...I know he'd be in thick of things if he were...but their gone...I miss them...I dream of family, Shannon, Lisa, my brother Michael, and baby sister Kerri..their all gone too. Dad won't speak of them as dead only "away". I dream of places....Romeoville, my home in the Clublands, my city Chicago...I've named the secondary ranch as "New Chicago". But it's all gone. What won't replace it however is the J&R subsidiary known as the ASA. Things are heating up. Acts of defiance...in Missouri, here and in Kansas. It bleeds again I here not only from acts of vengance and internal wars but it's chaffing under the Ravenwood jackboot.

Hello...It's not really "Day 2" but it is for you I guess. Michael, Dad and the Field Hands have begun planting for summer. The Radiation detectors we bought from Charlie seem to indicate a 250% spike from "normal" radiation in the soil. But we can't really worry about that. Those bastards of the OSA and Jennings & Rall made sure of that. Their contesting my Dad's claim unless I agree to form a "teaching" co-op designed to enforce the version of history as brought to by J&R.
Ravenwood has taken a slight interest in me because of my military background. I'm amazed at the level of info they actually really know. The resident fascist in charge is Edgar Munich. Funny name Munich but it suits his crew-cut right-wing sensibities, our little "Himmler". I guess my diary has to go "secret' now. Dissension is the last thing that the OSA (aka ASA) wants even to the slightest degree. So now it begins....I've begun reaching out to like-minded people to see what we can do about the ursuper Gov't of Cheyenne. I've been back to the good ole' USA and made contact with some people there. I call myself "Gabriel" the other Archangel, defender of the light. My cell is known is as "Chelmsford". The ancient

Friday 21st Aprill 2008 14:38 hrs, Location Pearl Harbour. I had the whole day free to do what ever I wanted, no paper work, no yelling at the troops. so I decided to go and pay my respects at the memorial. I look across the harbour and close my eyes, I can feel a gentle breeze across my face, bow my head and say a small prayer. May you brave men and women rest in eternal peace and may I have the strenght and courage that you showed to help me through the battles to come, you gave your lives defending your home in an unpervoked attack now 67 years on your home is under attack again and this time we aussies are here to help you, we owe you that much after you came to our rescue in the battle of the coral sea for surley you stopped Australia being invaded, now the freedom and liberty you fought and died for is under threat and we are here to eradicate that threat.
I know this is fanfiction, I went to Pearl Harbour in 1994 I was touring around America following the Irish team during the World Cup Soccer tournament. Im Irish by birth, born in Dublin have been in Australia since 1980, one of my great uncles flew a Spitfire and fought in the Battle Of Britain. |
