Cities that: were most likely destroyed, may have been destroyed and are regional capitals.

Cities where attacks may have happened

For the entire first half of the season, we never learned a lot about the rest of the country.

The map above shows the cities hit and how much of the country is OK,
which is a lot. Even after we learned that there were more bombs than we thought, much of the country is still OK.

What is going on out there? In cities like New York, what form of government
is being used?

In places like Jericho, how are they taking it? Is something taking place that
we don't know about, like a civil war or an invasion?

I just want to know what is happening outside of Jericho since the bombs.

20 kilotons seems pretty small for a nuclear device. Does anybody know how much damage they could have done? Maybe a few city blocks?

Ok according to what we know for sure from the show these cities in the midwest were hit;
Chicago, Minneapolis, and Kansas City.
My question is (and if I were planning it) why not Des Moines Iowa. There are several reasons why this should have been a target.
1.) The capital of the state
2.) Major transportation hub I-80, I-35, and I-235 converge here
3.) A major emergency telecommunications network is setup there (Hoover Building) for the Midwest
4.) The Des Moines River is the main water source and leads into the Mississippi
5.) There are several major food processing planets in or around the city
6.) As of the start of 2008 there are over 700,000 living in or around the city

*But I must digress according to the map seen in Black Jack episode Iowa could be suffering from major fallout since three states surrounding it have been hit.

Pacal Why small capitals? 2 Mar 11 2008, 12:30 PM EDT by dcborn

France had Versailles during the monarchy, Spain had Toledo, and The U.S. had DC. That became bigger exponentially after all. its safer to administrate from a small city since less people means better control of ho enters, and presents more space for future expansion or building of infrastructures, being big cities like new York, too crowded, inn stable, and impossible of further development during hard situations, Albany meanwhile is a small city whit much space, many parks, and have already a state government established. Big cities also presents big problems, Epidemics, sanitary problems, Transportation problems, problems that head of state can’t worry about, being to busy whit the rest of the country. Also, big cities are BIG targets for further attacks. Me being president, would rule from Jericho after all, is safer, and more Mann able. and by the way, fallout is carried in the clouds and falls clean whit rain, contaminating land and water sources, while rivers would transport some of that radiation, it would not remain long contaminated, also salt water serve as a good radiation wash, or something like that I read some time ago, the radiation that should be feared the most is the one remained in ground cero of the nuke, that will remain for many years
