I think the bombs were smuggled into the country years ago by Islamic Extremists, most likely before 9-11. I think the extremists' leadership planned a string of attacks and have been setting up sleeper cells throughout the country in order to prepare for a variety of attacks at any given time. The bombs were detonated by one cell. The food shipments prepared and dropped by another cell. The communications were handled by yet another cell. Many of these cells have yet to be called into action due to a desire to have a continued and covert presence in order to mount a sustainable, long-lived attack on U.S. soil.
