Operation: Jericho Resurrection Update
Hello Fellow Rangers
As you all know it has been almost 4 months since the news first broke that Netflix had approached CBS about bringing Jericho back to television via Netflix.
We have heard from numerous sources, including several key writers and producers that this is real and contrary to all the rumors out there talks are ongoing between Netflix and CBS. I truly believe that this is the best shot we have of getting Jericho back since back in June of 2007 just prior to CBS announcing that they were bringing it back for its Second Season. Back then we made history by getting CBS to change their minds and make more Jericho episodes.
In 2007 the weapons we used included the telephone, fax, written letters and the sending of thousands of pounds of nuts. After the second cancellation we upped the ante by collecting tens of thousands of dollars from fans all over the globe to take out ads in Hollywood trade publications, produce a TV commercial which we put on Time Warner Cable in LA and on the UHD Channel, put up a billboard right outside of the CBS offices in LA and sold out the Jericho Comic and Graphic Novel.
Today in 2012 we have new weapons at our disposal like Face Book, Twitter and streaming Jericho on Netflix. These tools will allow us to build a business case that Jericho is a viable product that has millions of customers for advertisers to reach across the planet.
CBS and Netflix are huge corporations which like all Corporations are run on the basic premise of how much profit they can make from money they put into making a product which they call return on investment. We need to reach the decision makes at CBS and Netflix to let them know that we are here and that all sides will make a sizeable profit making new episodes of Jericho.
The 2 keys to Jericho getting back on the radar screen are the thousands of new fans who have and continue to discover Jericho for the first time on Netflix. The second I believe is the enormous success of AMC’s The Walking Dead when it aired its second half of season 2 back in February of 2012 in 122 countries across the globe which garnered an audience of almost 17 million viewers. The huge success of this serial drama which is based on a series of graphic novels has breathed new life into the potential to make money on Jericho.
The world has changed in the past 5 years, especially American television. Like all businesses the Networks now have to look at the entire globe not just the US market when assessing the profitability and viability of programs and are looking at cable, satellite and pay services like Netflix to launch original programming to reach niche markets.
We can and will get Jericho back and we need every Ranger to contact Netflix and CBS to let them know that there are millions of customers across the globe that waiting for Jericho to return. We need everyone to act on the battle plan below. Get friends, neighbors coworkers, anyone in your circle that can reach out to CBS and Netflix and convince them to get this deal done. We need the International Fans from Canada to the UK, from Australia to South Africa and everywhere in between to help us in our final push.
One of the main reasons, I think this is going to happen, if we help push CBS and Netflix is that the writers, producers and actors have jumped on board to encourage us and ask for our help as they did back in 2007 following season 1. Do you want to let them down? I for one do not. So I am personally asking everyone who is reading this note to stick to the battle plan as outlined below, get new people to help us join the fight and push this wagon over the finish line.
Remember when leaving a message at Netflix or CBS Facebook page or at the CBS comment site that we need to be polite and respectful. We need to tell them who you are, where you live and that you want Jericho back as soon as possible. This has and will always be about the numbers. Make your voice heard. This is our time to make History once again!

Our goal is to up the chatter on these two days internationally, think of a wave circling the globe. Remember to add your country to some of your posts and tweets when possible. If you discovered Jericho on Netflix and are now a new fan mention that.
Keep everything upbeat, positive and most importantly friendly, Jericho fans are known and recognized for being awesome. We have shown that we can accomplish so much more by being respectful than by being rude.
If possible on the Facebook pages for fan follow up - liking other fans comments and/or commenting under their posts to further drive up traffic.
For those fans already on the Jericho Twitter front please continue your set daily Twitter parties, all of this will be in addition too what you have already accomplished with Twitter! While tweeting feel free to use some of the above comment tags from the CBS comment form area.

Know the Players
Know the players is the first rule of problem solving. The second rule is "know what the players want". This is what I use in figuring out how to approach getting Jericho back.
The players are:
Junction Entertainment - Jericho's production company
CBS Television Studios
Netflix
What do the players want:
Junction - to make more TV shows
CBS Television Studios - to widen the list of networks that buy their shows
Neflix - to increase their subscriber base
The corporations involved need to make this a win-win scenario, since they are all looking to make a profit. The CBS-Netflix talks are happening now, since all of the players see a way to make this a win for them.
Our part is to simply to let them know we are sitll interested in Jericho!

How to Order Jericho Season 4 (in stores on 8/15)
The comic issues are released first and then the whole series is published as a graphic novel (comics in book form). The Season 4 series will have 5 issues and each issue will have two covers.
The covers are being released in a 1 to 1 ratio, so if you order two of issue #1 you will get both covers.The interior is the same for both covers, what changes is the outside cover. Many collect both covers. There is a third incentive cover and that is only available via your local comic shop.
Comics are usually ordered in advance, so that each shop knows how many they will need. At some shops, you can order the whole series in advance.
