CBS TV On Sprint

Louis Hau, 03.23.07, 6:10 PM ET CBS said Friday that it has agreed to provide wireless carrier Sprint with full-length episodes of its prime-time TV drama Jericho and nightly broadcasts of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. The CBS (nyse: CBS - news - people ) programming will be available to subscribers of the carrier's Sprint (nyse: S - news - people ) TV service and will also include daily video clips from Entertainment Tonight, Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. CBS will also provide clips from other prime-time shows, as well as archived CBS Paramount clips from I Love Lucy and The Brady Bunch. It's the second wireless deal that CBS has secured for full-length episode programming. In January, the network signed on with Qualcomm (nasdaq: QCOM - news - people )'s MediaFlo System to provide participating wireless carriers with a more extensive selection of full-episode programming, including shows such as Jericho, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Survivor. Verizon Wireless has rolled out MediaFlo service to some of its subscribers and AT&T (nyse: T - news - people ) is expected to begin doing so by the end of the year. CBS is the first TV network to provide Sprint with full-length episode programming. Sprint also offers full-length pay-per-view movies through its Sprint Movies service and produces its own short-form video programming through its Sprint Power View network.
