  • Thread Jake Green LIVES! This is fan-tastic! CBS, you've made the right decision. I'll keep doing my part, blogging and such, but the way to REALLY boost interest is to get the story of the nuts, the fans and the actual nuts you recieved, to the news media, even if it's just access hollywood. Yeah, get Katie Couric to talk about the fan response on the evening news and watch interest in the show GROW. Meanwhile, Ill keep telling everyone I know (and some I don't know) about the show and wait patiently for season 1 on DVD and Jericho's triumphant return to television!   • Thread Jake's Role I think after all is said and done, one of the outcomes could be that Heather is who Jake refers to in the pilot that he has to go back to and after the accident in the beginning of the movie during the attacks, Jake is knocked out and is actually now in a hospital dreaming all of this in his coma.   • Thread Jakes past Jake used to be a pilot for a covert company that worked in afganistan and iraq. He did not work for the millitary.   • Thread Jake's name The fact that his passport says Johnston Jacob Green but he goes by Jake does not mean it is a fake. I have many friends who do not like their "real" names and choose to be called by their middle ones. Also his Grandfathers' name was Jacob Eric Green so his parents might have always called him Jake for short, to be clear who was talking to whom while the Grandfather was alive.     The only thing we really know about Jake is that he has been gone from Jericho for 5 years. Plenty of time to join up muster out and perform contracting in the middle east. We know he lied on his app, and was unwilling to divulge more info. There may have been more he lied about on that app, that they didn’t catch, such as the timeline. At any rate it doesn’t really matter. The producers are taking creative liberty with physics, geography, and aircraft. The jets flying over were f-16s, as the mig-19 looks a lot like the f-86, and that profile didn’t fit. So don’t get to caught up in what they say or show.   • Thread Jake Green / Skeet Ulrich I keep seeing postings here about how could the writers “write off” Johnston/ he was the “main” character and Gerald McRaney was the “main” star, etc. After I read those kind of postings, I sit back and wonder if they saw the same episodes of Jericho I did.

    The main character is Jake, and the main actor is Skeet Ulrich. (This is not just my opinion, but evidenced by the staring order listed in the beginning of each episode).

    Yes, Johnston was a good character, and yes Mr. McRaney is a good actor and did a great job in this role. But in order for the story to go forward, and in order for Jake to “be the man is was born to be” Johnston had to either diminish in stature or be written off so Jake could try to fill his father’s shoes. I would rather see the character of Johnston go out a hero than have the strength of his character be diminished somehow. Real life has shocks and changes, and isn’t that part of the what the storyline of Jericho is all about—shocks and changes and how people adjust to them?     Thread location: PageCast of Jericho

  • Thread RE: Johnston Green Yes. Where is Mrs. Green? She has endured a great loss, but *obviously* her sons need the guidance now more than ever. And just because she’s in the middle of nowhere doesn’t mean that she’ll be left alone, she would probably be an easier target alone in the woods.   • Thread RE: Johnston Green I thought the Johnston Green character was excellent and I'll miss him in season 2. However, I think it would be a HUGE mistake to bring him back by any means other than flashbacks. I think the show would lose all credibility if we were to find out that neither Jake, nor Eric, nor Gail (a nurse) had the wherewithall to determine if their beloved father/husband was dead or not!   • Thread RE: April Green Don't entirely agree with this but ... what has happened to April? Why is Gail so under utilised? In fact I am hopping that many of the "recurring" characters get the opportunity to feature more in the show as the series progresses, this includes not just the "Main" characters but also the "Supporting" characters. I would become disillusioned if the show turns into the Jake and Rob hour (even though I understand that they are the pivot around which the show turns).
