Jericho, as it was, does not need to go any further. What I would like to see is a reboot of the story focussing more on the plot to blow up all the cities
that got bombed, and how the conspiracy came to be and how Hawkins and his other folks try to bring it down. The bomb is now in Texas, so Jericho really is irrelevant to the story now. I would like to see how Hawkins and Jake would be able to expose the plot, and bring those who are guilty to justice, or death. It could be something more along the lines of '24'. They could go back, and tell how the conspiracy started, how Hawkins got involved, and focus more on the action, intrigue, and talk about how Texas fights with the Cheyenne government. The one thing that I haven't pieced together is whether Dallas and Houston were able to survive or not. I don't think they ever named the city that Jake flew to after the two fighter planes from Texas intervened and shot down the Cheyenne planes. Being from Ohio, I have to say that having Columbus spared and identified as a seat of the government was a nice touch. Maybe they could go into that angle a little more also. I like the character of Hawkins, and Lennie plays him really well. I would love to see more of his story. A suggestion for a new title of the show? How about simply 'Hawkins: Covert Ops'? I resisted the impulse to suggest 'Jake and the Black Man'. LOL

Just wanted to warn potential fans of the show to not join with the Radio Free Jericho message board. I joined just this week hoping to share my insights on the implications of issues Jericho brings up. It's not every day you find something worth talking about on TV. So I joined with Radio Free Jericho and started posting my thoughts on their site until I made comments on Prop 8. They were respectful and completely in the realm of the debate but the moderator deleted my comment and locked me out of the thread. Then when I tried to reason with them, they cancelled my account. Just a heads up, don't register with them. They obviously didn't learn anything from the show like allowing other people's opinions or thoughts to be heard even if you don't agree with them...

Hi, I have a question. I am considering to watch all the available episiodes. I read a lot about this serie and I think it must me great. But since the producer cancelled the serie halfway the second season, my question is does it have an end? I mean, does the storyline ends somewhere so people can say; okay, now I know what happened.. or does the serie just stops in the middle of the storyline.. In that case I'm not going to start with this one, it would only make me frustrated.

CBS finally pulled the plug on the CBS.com forums for good. Its about time. At least they stop fueling the fires of 100 or so people wasting time trying to get Season 3 on the air. A few surviving refugees are trying to regroup on the UHD boards. Its pathetic - maybe 7 or 8 people there at any one time. Most of the time its just 1 or 2, with a handful of lurkers as evidenced by the stat counter at the bottom of the page.
I will always fondly remember the 2007 NUTS Campaign but the feeling is somewhat tarnished by the ultimate failure of Jericho Season 2 where 1 out of 4 viewers who saw the Season 1 finale hated Season 2 enough to quit watching after episode 1 where Jericho turned into a mysterious survivalist story into a sub Tom Clancy - low rent "24" political conspiracy based on paranoid rantings of a group called the "911 Truthers". The old Americans blew themselves up plot was too lame for many. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9/11_Truth_Movement#Viewpoints Its sad what happened, but its over. Finally ---- its over.

refugees are apparently going here:
http://boards.nbcuni.com/universalHD/index.php?showforum=29 Youll find a handful of people there at any one time. The bad thing about this is any potential financial backer will see that there are so few people there and not take them seriously at all. They are still convinced they can bring Jericho back through sheer force of will. The best that will come out of the Jericho train-wreck is a print novel similar to what happened after THE 4400 was cancelled. With the economy being as bad as it is, and money extremely tight, odds are Jericho will see no live action production for years - probably never. Its like FIREFLY - those fans, after a cancelled show and a box office failure (SERENITY) and they are still trying to bring that show back. And they are even more hard core than Jericho fans are. The latest Jericho project is the airing of yet another commercial, on UHD this time, in a long line of advertising efforts that have generated no results. But at least it gives them something to do while nothing happens. The ONLY thing that might bring Jericho back is massive DVD sales in the millions - Family Guy was resurrected using this method. Cold hard cash in the tens of millions of dollars is the only thing backers would see as evidence that any more than a 100 or so hard core fans really still care to see Jericho back on the air or on the big screen.

I have to say, McRaney is a scary, scary individual. Because he's played military men on television, he seems to feel he is one, or at the very least a veteran, and his politics appear to me to be one of war, as if he wouldn't mind something like what happened on Jericho to happen for real. I'm much more supportive of the show knowing he'll no longer be a part of the cast. I certinaly support my family members, friends and others fighting today, and veterans of past wars, but am not a war advocate. Wars are what causes things like what happened in Jericho to happen for real.

Hi, I was out of the States and missed seeing Jericho as it aired. I'm burning midnight oil now, catching up (and neglecting my own work to find out what happens next.)
I just began watching Semper Fidelis ... SPOILER AHEAD When the tanks rolled in and he said "SIR! We are the United States Marines," I got goosebumps and damn near burst out in tears. By the time he was done explaining, tears were coming down. Though I served in the military, I've been opposed to us going in to Iraq all along. I favor peace, and accept war only as the very LAST resort. I voted for Obama. I'm ex Army, not even a Corps kinda guy, so why is this episode getting to me so much? Is it a sense of relief that the hell is finally over (empathetic for them, or for us here in the States,) or am I suffering some sort of PTS thing I didn't realize I had, or what? Does the opening of this episode get to you guys that much too?

I've been places & seen things that most Americans haven't. We take far too much for granted. i.e. Open borders & allowing (being forced to welcome) foreign cultures in that dilute & pollute truth. A true study of history (not government high school text book crap) obviously points to which forks in our road to take; yet we haven't. Like Steven King's book (& 2-CD movie) "The Stand" & the older movie "The Morning After", Jericho is A GREAT STUDY. What happens to people when discomfort sets in & fear dictates to the people which leader to elect. When reason & logic are foresaken so to coddle fear & the way it used to be. The haves (those who prepared) & the have nots (those who sloughed-off & rely on others including the government). Life is about change & change is life. People, we are viewing a microcosm of the next decades' extremely probable realities. Politically & morally just like Rome, we are destined to experience a very hard fall. We -the United States of America- have to before the rest of the world enters into WWIII & that new world government we are being hearded into. Yes, A GREAT STUDY.
P.S. Stellemojo; You had really better study what causes "war". Your ignorance shines darkly & are likely to be one of the ones who walk about in denial AFTER the fact.

Where in Kansas is Jericho? First the things we know. We know according to the map on the Jericho website that three different highways run into or through Jericho. They are I-70, US 40 and US 83. Here is where some problems start. According to the map of Jericho, 1-70 runs directly behind the sheriff's office/town hall but when they do a front shot of the these building you can not see or hear any evidence of the 4 lane highway.
Second, we know that in the 1st episode we have Jake coming from Denver, CO. We see a sign as Jake is driving that has these town and distances. Jericho 47 miles, Witchia 186 miles, Kansas City, 362 miles. There is only one place that I have found where the highways mentioned above intersect and that is the real town of Oakley, KS. Actually, I-70 does not run into Oakley it goes around it. We have gotten a pretty good idea of where Jericho is but the mileage sign even close to being right? If you take the most probable route from Oakley to Denver which would be 1-70 and goes west 47 miles that put you roughly in Goodland, KS. Now if you do a mapquest for mileage from Goodland, KS to Wichita, KS you get a mileage of 325 miles. Remember the sign said 186 miles! The mileage from Kansas City to Goodland, KS is 409 miles according to mapquest. Now if we add up the mileage from where Jake is to Jericho and then add 362 to KC you have 409 miles which puts you roughly in Goodland, KS. They did a better job on these mileage calucations. I wonder about the other mileage signs in other episodes? These calucations where fun for a former resident of Lawrence, KS. (Which no longer on the face of the earth!)
