Meet the actor:Alicia Coppola

Background:
Mimi is from Washington DC, and works for the IRS. She graduated from Vassar and seems to come from a family with money, or at the very least urban sophistication.

• She came to Jericho to oversee the audit and probable foreclosure of the Richmond farm.
  
• After the blast, she is stranded in Jericho. She stays at the hotel until it closes then moves onto the Richmond farm with Stanley and Bonnie.
• She is the classic city girl and has been having difficulty adjusting to her new surroundings.

The scene where she reverts to her old life, reworking her now meaningless IRS paperwork, accurately depicts someone in her predicament. Her subsequent declaration that everything she knew was "incinerated" and her breakdown was one of the more deeply moving moments of the whole show.

Relationship to other characters:
Mimi has no family or real friends in Jericho. Her family in DC are presumed dead. She has formed a romantic connection with Stanley Richmond whom she doesn't want to leave at this point. Not for all the mango margaritas in the world.

Mimi comes off very cold and abrasive. She confessed to Stanley that she doesn't really have second dates (due to her personality). She thinks they won't work as a couple because he is "sweet and simple"

Bonnie, Stanley's sister disapproved of Stanley and Mimi as a couple at first but is starting to come around. They are almost like sisters now.

Recently, Stanley confessed to Jake that if they survive the war with New Bern he will ask Mimi to marry him. He even brought her to his parents grave site to have her meet his parents.

She confessed to being in love with Stanley Richmond before he left for New Bern. But he said it first, something no one else ever has.

Other than that, her only other "friend" is Mary Bailey, who she only really spoke to about her at-the-time secret relationship with Eric Green. Which is no longer a secret.

Mimi seemed to have a snobbish attitude toward country people. Since she and Stanley have gotten closer she has seemed to drop most of that attitude.


Watching her talk herself into slaughtering the chicken was a defining characteristic into Mimi's character.
