Meet the actor: Brad Beyer
What we do know:
He is a farmer who seems to be your quintessential all-American guy. He loves football, and is devoted to his family farm and his sister, Bonnie, who is deaf. He lost his parents when he was 18. He has a big heart, as he opened his home to Mimi, the IRS agent auditing their farm, and eventually fell in love with her. He also seems to be one of Jake's best friends. However, Stanley is incredibly stubborn, and refuses to abandon his family farm, even when it seems like the only logical choice. And he's got the greatest sense of humor! Although he can be comical, Stanley's character and interactions with others go very deep. He always tries to shed some light on the bad side of things--to be optimistic!!!
Stanley was also out in the fallout for about 20 minutes. While he hasn't shown any side effects yet, that could change later on.
He needs to get something beside a double barrel bird gun if he's going to protect that place and those women.
He is now storing the tank (left in Jericho by the fake marines in Semper Fidelis) in his barn.
In the later episodes of the season, Stanley takes on a role as one of the leaders of the Rangers; helping train and lead 'missions'. We see a new side of him as he begins to deal with the loss of life and devastation caused by the New Bern attack.
What we don't know:
Bonnie says in "Vox Populi" (Episode 1.11) that she has been running the farm alone for the last five years? What that leaves Stanley doing is a mystery.
His role in the town:
As a local farmer, his crops will be critical in feeding the town now that Gracie's store is no longer receiving regular shipments. He is also an upstanding citizen, and an ally of the Green family. In the later episodes he takes on a leadership role with the Rangers.
Family:
Bonnie Richmond is his younger sister. In addition, he has at least one cousin in the vicinity, which he mentioned when he returned home soaked in fallout-laden rain. According to his report, he had been busy helping his cousin roundup stock when it started raining.
Close friend of Jake Green.
Brother to Bonnie Richmond
Boyfriend to Mimi Clark
Romantic connections:
His love interest is Mimi Clark, the IRS auditor, who was auditing his farm just before the attacks. He has gone so far as to pick out what their "tabloid name" would have been (Stimi) had they been celebrities. As a romantic gesture, he created a new cocktail in Mimi's honor, a Tango Margarita! Before leaving for New Bern, he confessed that he had been in love with her since the first day he met her in Bailey's Bar.
Stanley Quotes:
Episode 3: Four Horsemen
Stanley: "I'm really sick of being poked with needles every ten minutes. They'll be sorry when my spider powers kick in."
Jake: "Well, you're still an Idiot, so that's a good sign."
Episode 7: Long live the Mayor
Stanley: "All my life, growing up as a boy, I felt like there was something missing in my life. Now I know what it is. It's the triangle. Sink, Stove, Prep."
Mimi: "We have sarcasm in D.C, you know."
In "Heart of Winter" Stanley has to choose between going into an old cabin to save himself from possibly freezing to death, or to stay and try to keep Jake from freezing to death. "I'm not leaving you any more than you'd leave me," he states strongly, removes his coat, and drapes it over Jake's shivering body.
In "Winter's End" Stanley confesses to Mimi that he has loved her since he first met her in Bailey's Bar.

I LOVE the story that's developing between these two. They are both great characters and from the episode where Mimi called him a hillbilly I knew something would happen between them. With their cute bickering, I find myself wanting to see more of them in each episode!

Stanley does seem to spend alot of time in the bar - playing cards all night with Jake and Mimi and apparently was a champion rider of the mechanical bull before it was removed from Bailey's.
