General Information:

The United States of America - Jericho

The United States is built in the states in the East of America. The United States is all that remains of the once great nation, The United States of America. It is thought that there is little food, fuel, and water in the Eastern States but it is unclear if nations like Great Britain, France, Germany, or China have helped them out. The United States is currently fighting it's counter part, The Allied States of America. The Allied States of America has more food, fuel, water and weapons. But has less people.

The United States has recently recieved a message from the Texas Government, informing us that the ASA were behind the attacks. They have offered to help us in our fight against the ASA. Since Texas has decided to join us, we have a better chance at defeating the ASA. We are hopeful that if and when we win this Second Civil War, that we would bring Senator Tomarchio and his cabnet to Justice.

The Government:

Washington D.C.

The actual United States government is located in the Eastern Block. (The Eastern States). The capital of the United States was thought to be relocated to Albany, New York. But it is now clear that Columbus, Ohio is the new capital of the United States. It remains unclear, but the next man in line to become President of the United States is the leader of the United States.

The United States is much smaller the the Allied States of America, it's counter part. The United States has less weapons, food and oil. But has much more people then the Allied States of America have. It remains unclear, but it would appear the United States of America is following the same Constitution that it followed before the attacks.

The Military:

Florida

It is unclear how strong the United States military is. A few people think that U.S. Forces in Europe and the Middle East have come to the Eastern States. But if that is true, they would be more powerful then the Allied States of America. The National Guard Forces in the Eastern Block are most likely helping towns and small cities stop disputes or perhaps they are protecting the border. With little fuel in the East, they probably do not have vehicles to the extent the Allied States have.

People in the East do not have nearly as many guns as the South and West do. This may also be a reason why the United States is weak compared to the Allied States. With a possible shortage of weapons, the United States could easily fall to the Allied States.

The States:

Gound Zero-Boston

The United States may have 26 States, if we take away the 21 States of the Allied States of America, Texas, Alaska and Hawaii. It may be 28 States if Alaska and Hawaii have joined the United States, but we do not know if they have or not. The battle for Texas is very important to both the Allied States of America and the United States of America. If either get's the Texas Republic to join them, they have clear victory against the other. Since recent, Texas has alligned itself with the USA, paving way for a new chapter in American history. The outlook is hopeful, since we have the muscle of Texas behind us, we just might defeat the ASA once and for all.

This map (nice as it is!) is incorrect. According to the flight map on Jake's plane, Texas has become much larger after the attacks. You can see that Jake is near Las Vegas and that the border is very close to his location at the time. It wouldn't have been in the mission's best interest for jake to have flown that far to the south and then make the jog back to Lackland had he not been making a run for the border at it's closest point.

The premise that there is little food, fuel and water in this region is not credible. Let's start with fuel. The area sits on huge coal deposits that were NOT tapped out when oil and gas took over. There's a lot of high-grade anthracite coal etc. Not only that, forests which were cleared generations ago for family farms have grown back. The reason is that the farming moved into the midwest where the soil was easier to work than that of the East (particularly New England). But when that wood gets cut down again, it is a source of fuel, and the opened up spaces are now available for farming again. Railroad tracks (which can easily be repaired with all this timber) can be used again, and the fuel can be coal. This is only the beginning. Water? In the East it comes out of the skies. You can go a long time without watering your grasses, your crops and certainly not your trees. Irrigation is something very simple (sometimes pipes have been found to be made with hollowed out tree trunks, back in a previous century: they still work). So the East is not exactly as challenged as the rustbelt image would indicate. The ability to come together without needing cars and gasoline, by means of rail, still-existing canals from the early 19th century, and by means of river and coasting trades is never going to go away. It's all sitting there to be used. Okay, so there were some nuclear wipeouts. I guess Japan recovered. Go USA!

A few major things people seem to forget, first the east has all the Army's training facilities, i.e. Ft. Benning/Jackson/Knox. Most of the Armies Armor is based in eastern us, as with a good portion of it's combat forces, 101st/82nd. airborne, rangers, special forces command is in florida, the list goes on. And not too mention the fact that as soon as the A.S.A begins to lose equiptment, say an Abrams Tank, they will have no way to replace it, all the major weapons contractors are located in the east, General Dynamics, Lockheed/Martin, GE, Gulfstream Aerospace, Raytheon, it goes on and on. But the number 1 thing no one ever thinks of, COMMAND CODES!!! You can't take a crap without an authentication code in the navy. Ships don't go anywhere or do anything unless the order is authenticated. And who has the codes? Yep that would be the president, and since the HHS sec. was the lawful successor he and he alone would have them. And lets not forget all our forces overseas, those commanders on the ground were put there by the same administration that put the HHS sec in his position, i seriously doubt that those commanders would take orders from a junior senator fom wyoming, in fact the highest rank you see in the A.S. army in jericho is becks c.o. a Colonel. In fact the only Army patches you see are from the 10th Mountain, which has 1 brigade in Louisianna and 3 in Ft. Drum N.Y. So it obviously doesn't have command over the entire Division, just a single brigade, and the number one thing people never think of, every peice of info on the U.S. status comes from the A.S. gov. even Chavez's description is most likely tained by info he got while with the 10th.
