The attacks were carried out by a terrorist outsource (You know good lackey's are hard to find) so it was outsourced to a group of former fast food workers. They were only going to blackmail the US but you know how fast food orders get messed up, instead of one nuke this group used used up the lot. Like I said good help is hard to find these days.

The coming together of China and Russia was one of the most earth-shaking geopolitical events of modern times. Yet hardly anyone noticed the transition from bitter enemity to a solid geopolitical, economic, diplomatic and military alliance. The combined strengths of the two regional powers surely surpass that of the former Warsaw Pact. If we add Iran to the equation, we have a triumvirate that can pose a formidable challenge to the lone superpower. Iran is the most industrialized and the most populous nation in the Middle East. It is second only to Russia in terms of gas resources and also one of the largest oil producers in the world. It is also one of the most mountainous countries in the world, which makes it ideal for the conduct of asymmetric and guerrilla warfare against a superior adversary.
Iran borders both the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea, two of the richest oil and gas regions of the world. Most importantly, it controls the gateway to the Persian Gulf - the Strait of Hormuz. Modern bottom-rising, rocket propelled sea mines and supersonic cruise missiles deployed along the long mountainous coastline of Iran, manned by "invisible" guerrillas, could indefinitely stop the flow of oil from the Gulf, from which the US gets 23% of its imported oil. Japan also derives 90% of its oil from the Persian Gulf area, and Europe about 60%. In a major conflict, Iran can effectively deprive the US war machine and those of its key allies of much needed energy supplies. Imagine the war machine of the superpower running out of gas. Imagine also a US economy minus 23% of its imported oil. This 23% can rise considerably once Chinese and Russian submarines start sinking US-bound oil tankers. The triumvirate of China, Russia, and Iran could bring the US to its knees with a minimum of movement. |

While the first three points are correct, LA was in fact hit. (see map of blasts on wikipedia.org)
Hawkins isn't FBI (see morse code translations) & wasn't sent to investigate domestic terrorists, per se. See above posts. "Did he mean Islamofascists or some American faction like white supremacists?" MAYBE "Every time you float a theory, you should have a motive. These bombs were all set up in major cities by covert forces. If it's a conspiracy, it's a big one." The covert force is Ravenwood. Regarding the "large conspiracy," a team of four people in each city hit would contain the first wave to under 100 people. That's not "large." The motive is muddy and frankly, so are the tactics. Although strikes in Washington State (nuke submarine bases) & Camp Pendleton in LA/SD area would give an Asian power a beachhead for invasion, you have to ask why larger military command posts in the east, ie Ft Bragg & Ft Stewart, Ga; Camp Lejeune, NC, the stealth bomber wing in North Dakota & especially CENTCOM in Tampa, Fl., (where 75% of US war planning is done) weren't hit if it was in fact a foreign military action. A second wave on the above cites could still be in order. The coming episode title "Semper Fidelis" (US Marines credo) may allude to an attack on a Marine base. "Also, remember WHOEVER DID IT, whether domestic faction, Islamofascist sleeper cells, or belligerent foreign nation, had to have access to the bombs or materials to make them." I agree to a point. A nuke is easily made if you can get the fissionable material. Therein lies the problem. I don't buy the coup and/or civil war theories because no one would nuke most of the population centers they want to control. That would be like Iraqis nuking Baghdad in order to take control of their own nation. My guess is that Ravenwood's in bed with China. It explains the first strikes on the larger western military bases, Ravenwood being Johnny-on-the-spot, & gives the "who" behind it all. |
