We also looked into airing the ad on The Dish Network. (MPower does not deal with Direct TV yet)
And at first, this seemed a little more doable. For an average of $3500 we could have aired close to 100 spots and since Dish TV has close to 14 million members, on its face, that would sound pretty good. BUT, the problem with Dish TV is that the ads are created and sent via a particular demographic, which for us, would have been in the 18-30 year old age group, a scifi fan, and medium to high earning potential. Those in that particular demographic would be the only ones who would have seen it, regardless of where you live and what your watching at a particular time. That cuts the 14 million down to about 7 million before you even factor in those who are somewhere else and do not have their TV's on. We also received word from members of the Jericho crew and cast that we continue to air the ads in LA/Hollywood and NOT go for a more national plan. A vast majority of decision makers are in the LA/Hollywood area and they believed that doing it nationally would be a mistake also. So it is with that info we decided that we are just going to air the ad in the LA/Hollywood area. We are still waiting on somethings to pan out first before we put the actual link to donate. As of right now, we've got about $1800 or so in the war chest to use for this so when we do put the link up and officially start donations again, we are only going to leave the link up for about a week or so and whatever we have at that time, we will send to Time-Warner so they can get the ball rolling. As soon as I have more info, I will send it out as it should only be a few days or so before we open up for donations again. Thanks! Chris (GenPatton43) |

How can a show generate soooooo much fan support and have so many great actors, and not be picked up by another network?? It makes no sense. Yet we have these junk reality shows clogging up primetime and eating away at precious minutes that could be spent watching REAL entertainment. I'm just baffled. That's all.

hello, this is a very remorseful 7Knight-Wolf...you know, the user with the cool Avatar, who NEVER seems to be around this summer? Well, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for being gone so long... I was fighting alongside Jake and Hawkins, but Valente captured me. I stole a walkie-talkie and contacted Major Beck, who very kindly sent some guys to rescue me. I got stranded in the woods and had to rebuild an old car with the help of some mercenaries...but now I'm back! Okay...you can tell I've had a little too much Jericho... :) But seriously, I'll try my best to be around very often.
So, what's the latest update? I heard that the message boards will not be taken away... *phew*...but what else is being done now? Answers? |

I like jericho. I have bought both seasons and I have watch them so much that i had to copy them just so i dont lose them. I no that a few tv companys have talk to the owners of jericho about the series but I dont understand why they dont make a serious offer on the show. If someone can clue me in on what is going on PLEASE leave a post. I am tired of being in the dark about my favorite show of all time. LONG LIVE JERICHO

Ok guys, I just wanted to give you a quick update on the TV Campaign and how we're going to do a 2nd round of ads.
Those of us on the SJA website have been discussing it all week and had a lengthy conference call with a different media rep who was from MPower Media Communications. Pretty much what we were trying to decide was one of two things. Did we want to air another round of ads in the LA/Hollywood area or did we want to branch out and try to hit more areas across the country. It all came down to us wanting to get more bang for the buck. We have an established source with Time-Warner who could get the ads running again as soon as we needed in LA/Hollywood. Now looking at it from a more national standpoint, we could've hit a number of cities across the country like Philly, Atlanta, Chicago etc. But if we chose that, the number of spots to air would have been eaten up, almost to the point of only having the ad shown 2-3 times in each city. So doing it via a traditional method would not have been beneficial to the cause and essentially a waste of money. But we did not stop thre. |
