By my understanding the Ft 101 is a largely solid state device, but its amp is a tube, and it wasn't connected to its Antenna when the EMP attack happened. Depending on where it was stored most of its components should have survived. Its all metal shell would have added some good protection against the EMP. possibly not perfect, but a good start.
