Attention all Jericho fans still committed to making our presence known! We have been presented with an incredible opportunity to have the entertainment industry hear us in a big way.

How? This is where it gets exciting! What do you think about nearly 300 TV ads created by our own Rubber Poultry and airing at strategic times on strategic channels such as the Sci-Fi, History, Discovery, TNT, and ESPN channels (including the NBA playoffs)? This would be in full-out effort to create and/or maintain awareness of Jericho fans’ efforts in and around the Hollywood industry area where a decision about the resurrection of Jericho would most likely originate.

Under a proposal presented to us from Time-Warner in LA (holding 97% of the market share in that area), we are looking at a 10-day scheduled run in demographic markets that target people in the 25-49 age category, with higher-level incomes, and interests in the military and/or entertainment business, including zones around Hollywood, South Orange County, and the East San Fernando Valley.

** (NEW INFO) When this ad campaign was launched on May 9th, we had strategized and tried to figure out the best way to promote this wonderful show AND give back in a humanitarian effort that would benefit our serving military men and women. We felt like support for the DVDs for the Troops effort would be the appropriate vehicle for accomplishing both tasks, and we still believe that could be possible if we comfortably had more time, plus longer-than-30-second spots to do so.

However, because of challenges with a quick-turnaround, our focused intent to make Jericho front-and-center, and concerns expressed by fans and donors as to our ability to effectively get both messages across the same time, we are committed to taking a different tact. Though still supportive of the DVD effort, we have decided for the sake of Jericho and Ranger concerns, we will focus our ads solely on the Save Jericho efforts.

For all those who donated previously when the DVDs for the Troops campaign was the main focus, we will be in touch with you ASAP to decide how you would like us to proceed with your donation.

How better to show Carol, Karim, Dan, and Jon that we’re still behind them 100% in finding a new home for Jericho? How loudly can we show other interested parties considering giving Jericho and our nutty fan base a new home that we’re loyal, committed, and never-wavering -- that we dig in and fight for something that’s so important and meaningful to us?

But time is getting tight, and we’ve got to put together the mother of all fundraising campaigns in quick order to finance this powerful, targeted TV ad campaign to build upon all the other wonderful campaigns involving letter-writing, phone calls, peanuts and peanut butter, press releases, blogging, Digging, etc. that’s still keeping Jericho in play.

With an original price tag that topped over $20K, several Jericho Rangers have worked diligently to negotiate a package that’s much more manageable financially, but will still give us the bang for the buck to promote our beloved Jericho.

With that said, it’s time to step up and see how committed we are to having our voices heard in the loudest way possible! That means exactly $13,615 is needed to make this concept a reality. We’ve done it before with other advertising, and it’s incumbent upon us to move it to the next phase with targeted advertising that has far greater reach than ever before.

Are you game? Can we do this for Jericho and its cast and crew? Can we do it for all Jericho Rangers who’ve already given much in time, dollars and effort….but aren’t ready to concede to a hinky ratings system and a lack of appreciation for a show that’s touched our hearts unlike any other?

THE GOAL? $13,615. How quickly do we need it? Yesterday! So, let’s go, go, go!!

Our time frame is tight, and it’s probably one of our last chances to show Jericho Rangers’ commitment in the biggest, most vocal way possible.

Message From the Texas Republic

The Texan government has recently received evidence suggesting that the Allied States were behind the attacks in September. As of recent, the Texan Government has called back our Ambassador from Cheyenne, and informed the ASA that we are withdrawing our intentions of joining them. We are looking into allying ourselves with the Eastern States in order to bring the corrupt ASA government to justice for the murders of tens of millions of Americans.

Governor Todd delivered the following message to the republic in a public address from The Alamo:

"My fellow Texans, my fellow Americans, I stand here today on sacred ground where William B. Travis once bravely stood to preserve the existance of this very Republic. Perhaps a more important issue to mention is the we have recently learned that the Allied States of America and Jennings and Rall were behind the September attacks that destroyed 23 American cities including two in Texas.

A few days ago, two men from a Kansas small town flew into San Antonio and presented a nuclear warhead which they state was meant for Columbus, Ohio. I commend these two men for there heroism in exposing the greatest crime in world history.

In regard to the actions of the Allied States of America, I have recalled our ambassadors to that nation. Furthermore, we have withdrawn our intentions to join them. Yesterday, I had contacted President Charles and informed him of the news that I am delivering to you now.

As I stand here on this sacred ground, fate might have it that the Alamo will once again be the focal point in preserving the Republic and potentially the Union. Since Tomarcio and his government have no intention of abdicating, I am asking the Texas Legislature to declare a state of war with that country.

The United States government has also expressed intentions to declare war on the Allied States. As the Second American Civil War is on the horizon, I now quote Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address:
"It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Episode recap:
After Stanley murders Goetz, Beck sends out his troops to find Stanley and the other Rangers. Jake, the Rangers, and Stanley are hiding out. All of them are considered fugitives. Stanley feels guilty about what he did and wants to turn himself in, but Jake proposes a different idea. He goes into town and surrenders himself in exchange for the freedom of Stanley and the Rangers. Beck does not agree to the terms, and he arrests Jake. Beck also captured Russel, who gave away the identity of Goetz's killer. Jake will not tell Beck where Stanley is hiding, so Beck locks him up. Beck declares Jericho an open insurrection, and cuts off supplies to the town until the criminals are found. Heather is surprised at Beck's behavior and tells him so.

Meanwhile Hawkins gets a call from Chavez: Texas is ready to see the bomb. As Hawkins packs up to go to Texas, the mysterious phone-caller who made contact with Hawkins in previous episodes calls yet again. His name is Smith. Smith asks Hawkins not to take the bomb to Texas but work with him. Hawkins doesn't trust Smith, and lies saying they could work together. n reality, Hawkins sets off for Texas.

While locked up Jake begins to doubt how long he could keep going on like this. He has a vision--or a hallucination--of his Grandfather. His Grandfather encourages him to keep up the good work and try to recruit Beck to the right side. Jake wonders about Stanley. "I hurt everyone I ever loved, but I second chance," says Jake. "Stanley--he never hurt a soul." "But he lost everything," said the Grandfather. Life wasn't always fair, he goes on, but giving up won't bring back the old Stanley.

Beck makes Gail see Jake and tell him to talk. But while Gail is in the cell she whispers encouragement to Jake and tells him that the Rangers are going to break him out.

As Hawkins is driving, Smith calls him up and asks why he was going to Texas. Hawkins is stunned that Smith knows his destination and position, but he does not listen. Smith then calls Beck and reports Hawkins as a terrorist. In a matter of minutes Hawkins is surrounded by helicopters that fire at him. He drives into the woods and runs away, leaving the bomb in the back of his car. The army of Cheyenne retrieves the bomb.

In the meantime, Eric and the Rangers rescue Jake. Gail had told them that Jake was being held at a farm on the outskirts of Jericho. The rescue mission is done soon enough, with no casualties. Stanley did not go on the mission, but stayed alone. Mimi leaves the hospital where she has been recovering from her gunshot wound. She tries to comfort Stanley, who confesses his guilt as a result of killing Goetz. He tells Mimi that he lost his senses, that he felt no emotion whatsoever, he just pulled the trigger. (Clinically, this is called temporary insanity and the killer afterwards says he had no control over what he was doing.)

Hawkins walks but to Jericho, talking to Smith on the way. During the heated conversation Hawkins proves that his suspicions about Smith are true. Smith came up with the plan to bomb the cities and he put it into action. Hawkins asks why he did it, and Smith explains his hatred of Jennings and Rall. He used the bombs to destroy the company. "Well you failed," Hawkins says, "because they are more powerful than ever." "They're also more vulnerable," replies Smith. Smith plans to destroy Cheyenne, where Jennings and Rall is stationed. He plans to destroy it using Hawkins' bomb, which he will steal from the army.

Hawkins hurries to Jake and asks for his help. They must go to Cheyenne and take the bomb themselves.

Hello, this is my first post, but I am pleased to announce the fan film I am making based on Jericho!

The Heart of Resistance

This had always been in the back of my mind for the past few months, however, I had never thought of actually doing it until now. I am from Pleasant View Utah and that is where the film will take place. This follows the resistance efforts in Northern Utah. Ravenwood, the A.S. Army, and J&R will all be included. It is meant to get deeper into the story started by CBS' Jericho. It answers many questions people are asking such as the existence of the small capitals like Sacramento. I have been working on the script lately and have a list of characters including: Lt. Col. Cragun: maj beck's opposite, ruthless and unforgiving commander of the region; Adrian Doyle: Regional Ravenwood commander, very similar to Goetz; Thomas Stincher: main character, part of the resistance force and member of the big 5 (you find out who they are in the film).

This film really hits hard on the new government's problems like socialism, militarism, and totalitarianism. The show picks up where the 2nd season leaves off, on the dawn of the 2nd American Civil War, and yes this fight will be a major part of this film. I will post pictures and videos of our progress in the near future. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave a comment!

Excerpt from the Script

Ext. Meeting Location- Day

Thomas is walking out when Rhett passes him talking on the phone. Rhett gets off.

Rhett

Tom, get out of here now, they’re coming!

Ravenwood.

Rhett is practically in his car by the time he had said that and takes off down the street. Thomas quickly gets in his vehicle and pulls his handgun out of the glove box. He too quickly gets his car started and begins down the road. While driving down the road, a black hummer speeds past him . Tom pulls to the side to observe. The black hummer parks in front of the meeting location. Four Ravenwood mercenaries pour out of the Hummer. They approach the door of the meeting building and break in. The break in is followed by gunfire. One resistance soldier runs out of the building, he his quickly dropped by Ravenwood. Another one comes out but he holds out fighting, but like the one before him, he is killed. The four Ravenwood men exit the building. They drag the two dead resisters into the building and throw a Molotov cocktail into it which proceeds to catch on fire. Tom departs disgusted.

The United Nations

General Information:

After the attacks in September, the international community was at a standstill. Nobody wanted to take sides with the many American Governments. Finally, China, Russia, Germany, and many other nations launched programs to help what was left of America. All nations chose to stay neutral with the new governments of America, but all agreed they wanted to help the people. China sent food and supplies using old Russian planes -- an example of how the international community aided America after the attacks.

The Blue Line:

The United Nations has chosen to remain neutral in the conflicts of the USA and the ASA. The United Nations has set up U.N. Peacekeepers along the Mississippi River. These Peacekeepers are currently keeping the two factions from attacking each other. The U.N. Peacekeepers are also ensuring the safety of the ASA and the rest of the world by not allowing the Hudson Valley Virus to spread West. The U.N. Peacekeepers are the only thing holding the Virus in the East.

Rumors and Facts:

Many rumors regarding the international community remain. Some have suggested that Great Britain was also attacked. Others have suggested that Great Britain is going to help the USA. Mexico and Canada have not been heard from, although Jennings & Rall have all of their planes in Canada. (See Jennings & Rall website). Some people think that major nations like Great Britain and China have fallen into recession. This does make sense because without the U.S., international trade would fall apart. On the Jennings & Rall website it appears that a stock exchange is up, most likely in the international community. This fact remains contested.

Recently, the Texas Republic announced that they had recieved evidence that the Allied States of America and its contractor Jennings and Rall were behind the September attacks. In a statement from San Antonio, Texas has recalled its ambassador to the Cheyene government and has called off plans to join the Allied States. Furthermore, Texas has expressed its desire to side with the United States based out of Columbus, Ohio.

NEW NUTS CAMPAIGN IS A GO!

Hello everyone!

I am now happy to report that the campaign for nut gift baskets to our major media sources is a GO GO GO! The press release have been submitted to Jeff and Mary for final revision and our "gift pack" has been chosen. We ended up with 41 places to send our treats to (one additional at the request of the person who wanted the San Jose paper, sorry, I can't remember who it was....it has been a blur these last few day). It has been requested that we add TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly to the pot. This will depend on the amount of donations we receive.

Now, to the baskets and how to donate. After talking with Jeff B., we are unable to get a basket for our choice of nuts. :(. So what we have decided to do is send the $11.99 mixed nut sampler tray instead. If you have not seen it here is the link.

The reason for this is to keep the cost down for the price of the nuts and shipping. If we do 12 x 43....the cost for the nuts will be $516. We do not know what shipping costs and tax if there is any, will be yet...but I am going to guess high -- between $100 - $150...we will have the definate amount hopefully by tomorrow. So roughly this will cost $650 to do. You do not have to donate the full basket amount....just donate what you are willing to give.

Jeff does not have the capability to pool our money at this time, so I will volunteer my paypal account for this cause. You will need to send your donation to looseygoosey@tds.net. You will have to go to www.paypal.com, then go to send money. You will put in my email address as the person who is receiving, your email address as the person sending and then follow the steps to finsh the transaction. I will subtract Paypal fees from your donation. We would like to have all donations by Friday so we can be ready to roll immediately after the Variety ad hits the stands.

If we surpass our goal before the Hollywood Reporter deadline...I will donate any extra money toward the Hollywood Reporter ad. If we meet our goal after the deadline, the surplus will be donated to the DVD campaign unless anyone objects. I will post to this thread a financial statement so everyone will be able to review what happened to the money once the campaign is over. If you have any questions, feel free to post here!

Your station has always shown an ability to think beyond conventional thinking, and Jericho has always been beyond conventional TV and conventional ratings systems. It was always a better ‘fit’ for a non-conventional station anyway, as its ratings were not on par with CBS’ standards but it still shows a very good performance for a show that has been pitted against such shows as American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. It presents the kind of ratings that would be fantastic on a non-conventional network.

Please consider picking up Jericho as a new (or continuing) series on your network. It truly deserves a chance beyond conventionalism, and would fit in very well with your programming that has traditionally always been beyond the traditional views of Television. Sci-Fi Channel has always been very visionary in their programming and paying attention to their fans. You have a guaranteed viewer in me as well as others in this highly dedicated fandom, which is looking for our show to have a third chance as it richly deserves. The fact that you already possess the rights to air the first season of the show proves that you already have vision beyond traditional television, and I am asking you to continue that tradition of thinking beyond traditional television and invest in this worthwhile program.

The following is a copy of the letters that I sent to Paramount but they also apply to SciFi also.
Its just an FYI, if it helps give you an idea or thoughts for a letter, great!
If any of you have question about what you would or should include in your letters to Carol, the Jericho crew and cast as well as Paramount themselves. Feel free to use this as a guideline.

Carol, Karim, Dan and the rest of the Jericho and Paramount crews,

I have thought hard over the course of the last few days about all of the things I wish to say to you all. I guess you could say that this past Friday was, "Our Last Ordinary Day" for ourselves.
I, as well as thousands of other fans, find ourselves staring down the barrel of the cancellation gun once again. We have been through this before and we will go through it again. Our hearts are heavy but our determination is emboldend as never before. The past week has been confusing as we ourselves have been scared, angry, saddened and shocked at what lies ahead.
In a sense, we ourselves have been cut off from contact with the outside world.
We listen and gather bits and pieces of information, but at times, we can make no decernable judgement as to what they mean.
We have been attacked by outside sources such as The Washington Post but yet we still continue to march onward.
We once were and are quickly becoming again, a tough and resilient family.
Does this sound familiar?
Sometimes words simply cannot express feelings and emotions during times like these but we still try regardless.
Words also cannot express the utmost respect and thanks that we, Jericho fans, have for all of you.
For all that you have done and for all that you continue to do. You gave us an incredible show to enjoy and in doing so, you also introduced us all to an entirely new family. All of us. The friendships that I have made here on the CBS boards over the last year I shall never forget.
Two years ago I was overseas and had someone asked me than if I thought I would ever find myself fighting for something such as this, I would have simply asked them to pass along whatever it was that they were drinking. I never would have imagined in a thousand years that I would be here among a family of this sort.
But, I am and I have all of you to thank for it.
I wish to thank you for all that you have done and alll that you will continue to do. Without a shadow of a doubt, I have no reason to belive that the story of this small Kansas town is ready to end just yet. As they say, hindsight is always 20/20 and there were things that helped Jericho and there were others that have hurt. There is no getting past that. But there is no reason as to why it needs to be put out to pasture just yet.
Over the coming days and weeks, we will once again sow you our resolve and determination in saving this show and this home that we all care for very much. You yourselves will see it firsthand with the thousands of letters that will be arriving.
The letters will be from many more fans just like me that simply cannot thank you enough.
We will show you the measuring stick of that resolve to you firsthand in these letters.
We will continue to support you as you continue in your efforts to find a new home for Jericho.
We will fight on until every possilble avenue has been visited.
We will fight on until every resource has been exhausted.
We will fight on until you tell us not too.
I thank you once again for opening my eyes into a whole new realm of possibilities and I pray that just like ours, the story of Jericho will continue.
From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you to Carol, Karim, Dan and cast and crew who made all of this possible. We are with all of you until the very end.
