CBS message to cancel Jericho
Shame on you, CBS. How dare you start a serial show and just shut it down after one season with most of the questions unanswered and most of characters only half way through their journey. Did you not realize the commitment you should have been making when you introduced this show? At least ABC understands enough to leave LOST on until it is finally developed. They actually look to see what the total viewership is (online, etc.). Did you? Why would you just drop the show rather than try to pull the viewers back with a better time slot and advertising? I recently read an article on how TV viewership is changing. Rather than knee jerk reactions, why don't you try leading the industry by trying to utilize the viewers new preferences to your advantage? Or actually figure out how to take advantage of new viewer preferences (online, and TIVO). You shouldn't even consider putting some two hour movie to tie up the loose ends. Two hours would never be enough, and Jericho fans won't be satisfied with a little blurb on your website to explain where the show was going. You made a commitment and you failed to follow through. I hope that's not what you are teaching your children at home. At our house, we make our kids stick with their commitments until they have run their course, win or lose. You owe us Jericho, so if you won't give it back, sell it, but it better go with all the actors, writers, producers, etc. It better not have any changes. And finally, CBS used to be my favorite channel. I am now rethinking how much I love my CSIs, and other dramas. I am SO DISAPPOINTED in you CBS. Shame, shame.

Was CBS forced to cancel Jericho?
"Maybe the show cancelled because it came TOO close too the truth then.
--I would start heading away from big cities and out to Kansas and middle of Nowheres, that the show predicted wouldn't get hit.--" but isn't this....wait better stated don't we live in a country where are views and not just that but if someone like comedy central "Lil Bush" can make a show like this. Are we living in Stalin Russia or something? Anyways I am a fan of the show. I just find it very strange a show as popular as this one is getting cancel. Doesn't CBS even check to see the thread count on their own website. Last time I checked Jericho was top 5 in threads and activity on their own damn community. Anywayz something for my fellow rangers to dwell on and think about!

"hi i'm marc from holland i've seen the first season of Jericho and i loved it!! and i really want to see the second season so i hope it will not be canceld so producers don't give up the show HERE IN HOLLAND WE LOVE JERICHO and you can put my name on the signature list
greetings from holland 'MARC
" C&P from the following website: http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Tv-Guide-News/Cbs-Drops-Viva/800025310
Viva Laughlin has crapped out. After scoring a minuscule 1.2 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic for its premiere on Sunday, CBS is pulling the plug on its musical drama after only two episodes.
The Amazing Race will take over the 8 pm slot on November 4. While CBS has new episodes of Jericho ready to go, the network is leaning toward launching it later this season rather than use it as a Laughlin replacement.
With a writers strike possible, the network wants fresh scripted shows at the ready. CBS will also want a few weeks to promote Jericho before its premiere. — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

But when I found Jericho I watched it every Wednesday.. and when I couldn't catch the show on TV I would watch it on your website on the internet.. NOW you want to cancel the show when it was just getting good? WTF is this world coming to, a show with NO ending in site, this is unbelievable. You guys @ CBS are nothing but a joke

Jericho
This is the first time I have ever posted a message on any website. However, being a big fan of Jericho I felt I need to express my major disappointment in CBS for not only canceling the show but for letting the show end this way. I am sure there are many people out there like me who will think twice before committing to another show on this network out of fear of it ending up like Jericho.

I had banned CBS from my home. Refused to allow anyone to watch it. Not because I'm a nut--but to protest a station that would get people interested in a show and leave you hanging. Besides Jericho was what had us watching CBS again.
Thank you CBS for listening to viewers. I agree with another blogger that said we need to see more advertisements for the show. If I had not happened onto the website I wouldn't have known.

Jericho !!
The government MUST be behind the foot dragging that CBS is doing. I would think somebody would step forward and tell us the truth, but I'll bet the government told them that the show is just way too close to actually being possible, or that there has already been a plot uncovered that is very similar to the story. If only the network would RESPOND to all that is being written here. I am hopeful that just by the fact that these pages have not been shut down and the Jericho remains on the CBS.com page of CBS shows, that the network is actually taking our words and actions under consideration. Then again, when Sasha Alexander left NCIS, they still had her picture on the NCIS page until the next season started. As it turns out, that was a bad career move on her part. Her website has been shut down for the last year or so. What has she done on TV or in movies lately? Anything at all?

BOYCOTT CBS ... WE WANT JERICHO NOW!!!!
The network sais (in it's blogs) that they're starting the editing and all that goes into finishing the show... Boycotting isn't going to change the airdate because the show is NOT ready to air...Send CBS your messages directly thru their own website to help ensure they understand our need to see a finished product asap. Tell them: "We don't want the new shows, reschedule them and find a spot for the ALL NEW Jericho." (squeeky wheel gets the grease)

Glad Jericho is Back, Disappointed in CBS response!
I agree, they provided this forum and ways for Jericho fans to watch it unconventionally and then complain that we actually used it and used it often. I watched live and on innertube and was thankful for the opportunity CBS provided us as viewers so I wouldn't miss an episode for any reason. Now I feel as if I'v somehow done something wrong for using what was provided me by them. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black- if they wanted us to watch only live television, then why did they give us this really great Jericho website to come to and see Hawkins countdown and have full episodes online? It's double talk and feels a little like blaming us for the ratings going down after the hiatus and they were the once who did the scheduling for the show not us. If they had asked the fans we would have told them to leave it on since the other networks show were taking a hiatus, how many of those shows viewers do you think would have been watching the new episodes of Jericho had it not been on hiatus too? Just my own thoughts and opinions.

Thanks CBS
Jericho was what had us watching CBS again.
Thank you CBS for listening to viewers. I agree with another blogger that said we need to see more advertisements for the show. If I had not happened onto the website I wouldn't have known it was coming back. For your demographics, my husband and I are HUGE fans and we are in the 40 + age range. I'll sure pass the word it's coming back to all my coworkers.

Cowardly CBS ?
"I heard on one of the entertainment shows the other night that CBS isn't going isn't going to bow down and be afraid of it's loyal viewers anymore. They said there's not going to be another season of Jerico no matter what the viewers had to say online . They said we forced they're hand once but they're not going to let the public decide what they want to watch." I believe that if we, the watchers continue to support this series (Jericho) and we can get others interested as well that CBS will continue to show it. It all comes down to ratings and if we don't keep those ratings up then they will justifiably stop making the series. I sure would hate to see that happen because I love watching this show. Let's get those ratings up there and tell our friends and family about this great show and perhaps we will see yet another season or maybe even more.

Cancellation of Jericho
I am finally posting to the website for Jericho. I can not believe you will axe Jericho for your idea of Reality TV world. You need to wake up to reality, alot of viewers are tired of reality; we the viewers want more television series with a storyline, a plot, a meaning and a good series that keeps us (the viewers) on edge wanting for more. Jericho has this, the fan loyality is not in the United States; but, around the globe. You think because the viewer ratings based on the nielsen ratings judges when the show is aired. You need to take into account the viewers are recording the show, downloading from (iTunes) and getting from other means and not just the nielsen ratings. We the fans to push CBS into bringing Jericho back and not for a 2-hour closure and/or mini-series ending.

WIKI link not on the cbs.com/primetime/jericho website
Did anyone else notice that the Jericho WIKI (http://jerichowiki.cbs.com/) link is no longer on http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/ site?
Does this mean that this website is coming down?

Jericho dropped
I believe CBS doesn' t want thinkers. I believe they want to create a whole society of brain-dead boob tubers. A group of people who will just sit in front of the tv, drooling, and blindly accept whatever CBS throws at them. If we don't question, don't seek answers, new avenues for problems, or demand accountability we are "safe". We can easily be led down the path that CBS wants us to go. If we learn anything we might be able to counteract any negative forces we might encounter. I want something that will exercise my "little grey cells". JERICHO did that. "What is going on? Is this guy or that one good or bad? Each week I looked forward to whatever was to unfold. Please bring JERICHO back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fighting for Jericho
"What do you mean Jericho doesn't fit CBS' "Leftist/anti-America agenda?" Some Jericho fans are complaining that it's anti-Bush/Cheney, an allegory exposing how far the Neoconservatives will go to continue in power. I guess Jericho is like that ink blot test, where you can pretty much see ANYTHING in it, depending on your point of view." Hey genius, check out this website: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/lynn-davidson/2008/02/12/tonights-returning-tv-show-jericho-takes-left-turn
Believe it or not, but EVERYBODY in power out in Hollywood is left-wing, and they will insert it everywhere they can. Maybe, just maybe, you will read this article and open your eyes to the fact that Republicans (and America) is under attack by Hollywood every day of the week.
Yes, I'm bitter and angry, because I LOVED Jericho during the first season. But the writers and producers felt the need to bring the presidential campaign into it. Just like the actors, they can't keep their politics to themselves. It's one thing to COMMENT on what's going on, like the other CBS show: The Unit. But it's a whole other matter when they turn a show into a Democrat campaign tool.
The writers can strike, but we can BOYCOTT. And I suggest a boycott of Jericho to send a message. The same message that has been sent to Hollywood with all the anti-war movies they have put out: WE'RE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR ONE-SIDED, UNEDUCATED AND UNINFORMED POINT OF VIEW!!!!
