Will they come back again?
This may already have been posted here, but just in case it hasn't, there is a petition for the Sci-Fi channel to pick up Jericho, and it appears well worth signing for all Jericho fans.

Open Letter to Carol Barbee
"Actually, I think the moral of Jericho is very American, that the Constitution is just a piece of paper unless you're willing to fight for it. Both U.S. Senator Tomarchio and Major Beck took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC. Tomarchio may not even be part of the original plot, but just be a shameless power-mad opportunist who saw a chance for "glory."
Actually, making the terrorists domestic took Bush off the hook. Remember, we're fighting them "over there" so we don't have to fight them here. So O.K. it worked, the terrorists weren't Muslim extremeists but Christian, Good Ole Boy extremists. So it's O.K. that the government wasn't able to stop them, right? The FBI was probably too busy "flagging" Middle Eastern-looking people to notice Bubba walking through security with a nuclear bomb stuffed in his back pocket with the package of Red Man chewing tobacco." The makeup of the plot was listed as Domestic Militia (not necessarily Christian, but likely paranoid antigovernment types), Anarchists - to the left of Communists - they dont want any government at all - which is what this group probably hoped would happen as a result of the bombins) and lastly Religious Extremists (Im assuming this is the politically correct term for Muslim terrorists) who likely wanted to see the US Federal Government destroyed even if it mean cooperating with American bomb plotters - they too probably hoped the bombings would backfire and turn America into land with no functioning national government. One of the terrorists in Hawkins cell was clearly meant to be middle eastern (show in AKA, just before Hawkins killed the kid that would have spilled the beans about his true identity). And in the COUNTDOWN webisodes it was revealed that the plot was both DOMESTIC and GLOBAL. Which means it just wasnt Americans involved in it.
If the whole intention is to portray the bomb leaders as Christians, then Jerichos ratings will plunge like a rock as it would alienate half its viewer base. Perhaps its why Jericho lost 1.3 million viewers between episodes 1 and 2.
As for terrorism itself, radical Islam cannot be ignored, the London and Madrid bombings along with other failed plots demonstrate that.
As the person who started this thread said, if this turns into some Michael Moore/MoveOn.Org fantasy then Jericho is pretty much finished - even if it manages to get picked up for a Season 3 on the SCI-FI channel. There have been alot of those types of movies out lately and they have all bombed at the theaters.

Season 2 - CBS excuses for Cancellation
"The three-year agreement gives Sci-Fi rights to the first and second seasons of the series, which includes an exclusive first run in basic cable for the first six months of the deal." (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3i3a6ca747d7f74ddadfca32f091673dae)
This means that they are going to repeat the first season, and these 7 episodes ad nauseam. If Sci-Fi is like the Canadian equivalent (called Space) then it is becoming packed with failed shows that they just keep repeating. If Sci-Fi were to pick the series up and make a third season it would not be for a few years until this contract expires. If they were interested then they would have signed an open ended contract for full rights, not just repeat rights.
At least now we have more ammunition against CBS since this deal easily puts Jericho in the black considering the New low production costs.

Life outside the ASA?
"Well, if SCI FI, took over making new ones, I think that would bea good thing, honestly..." Check out "Jericho Headed for Cable via Sci Fi Channel". CBS will be showing the Season Two while Sci Fi will show season one. It didn't say if Sci Fi will take the whole thing over after Season Two. It just said something about a three year deal.

Only 7 episodes?????!!
"Iw ould like to revise this post. We will likely see the seven epsiodes as a wrap up of the entire series. THEN we'll never see jericho again." If WE see Jericho again, THE show will be on another Network [ sci-fi ] [ TNT ] [ FX ] or even in syndication possible.
CBS is one sided, sturbern, bull headed network. Jericho is proven Execlent Enterment, well produced, well acted what a shame.

THE LEADING COMPANIES IN U.S. DON'T WANT THIS SHOW TO BE BROADCASTED!
"On the contrary, Ironhorse25, your information is flawed:
I never said Jericho was on NBC, I was making a point as to who owns the media corporations.
OH and GE is number FOURTEEN on the list of top 100 Defense Contractors. They may not be in the top TEN, but they've earned this many dollars $1,822,720,199, which means they will defend the government that gives them that much, and manipulate television viewing to promote those dollars coming in.
And CBS owns Westinghouse Electric, which receives government Defense contracts. Receiving $12.6 million for an A/N TPS-70 long range search radar including spare parts and data.
Why would anyone ever think this is a conspiracy? It's just good business practice. WHY would a station put on a show that portrays a government gone bad when it's not in their best interest financially? " You've got the wrong person stellamojo. I never made these statements about NBC. "Jericho" was only on CBS, Sci-Fi, and The CW. I stated that Jericho's low ratings helped cost The CW its' entire Sunday night lineup.
