  • What's in the basement? It isn't a nuclear bomb! Has anyone noticed the episode that Gray came to question the Hawkins family? The family was cooking pies and marveling at the things that Daddy(Robert) could do. Anyone notice the power switch on the wall of Robert's recently built block room? How does he keep his computer going after all these weeks? What's in the basement is nuclear, only it isn't a bomb, it is small power source. These are used in space flight and for other terrestrial purposes.

  • what's in the basement
"GRAY is the bad guy, bent on wresting power from the rightful mayor--which he just did--and ruling vigilante-style. I believe Hawkins is GOOD. So far, he has given the town no bad advice. He was trying to remain low-profile because he's an outsider and AFRICAN AMERICAN!!!!!! I think he had knowledge of the imminent attacks and was unable to prevent them. Perhaps he ran up on fellow agents who were corrupt and participating in a domestic plot and BOOKED to Jericho with his estranged family. He is a GOOD GUY and may have been placed undercover to locate adherents of the coup at various levels of government. I think his last assignment may have been as a St. Louis cop. Look at the first page and read the thing about the female St. Louis cop lurking outside of Jericho. She's one of three things: a fellow good agent embedded with Hawkins during his previous undercover assignment, his honey while he was there--remember he and Darcy haven't been together for a while, OR ONE OF THE BAD GUYS HE WAS INVESTIGATING. Hawkins was a double agent, in all likelihood."
Hawkins would give up the information if the mayor had his children for leverage. Then hang the African American?....If that is what he is. Or I might be wrong and he is a good guy....?.... When is the next Jericho going to be on? Lets find out.

  • Pic of Hawkins in basement on the left side shelving there are two strange items. the first one closest on the left appears to be a monitor of some type cant see it very well it look like meters and guages. also it has wat appears to be a yellow tag used in the military as a newly calibrated piece of equipment. red tag would mean it was inoperable. the other item a white framed storage box with decals on what looks like drawers the 5th drawer from the bottom is an American flag. and top right corner looks like a bar code. i cant identify the rest. I found this interesting.

  • What now? Now that his family might have left him and he has a way of meeting his hopeful assasins, what does he plan on doing with his nuke. I don't think it's going to be in that basement for much longer, no matter how it's used.

  • What are the reasons for the attack?
"As for who Hawkins works for, I found this helpful...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_River_%28Jericho_episode%29
the Morse Code for the beginning of the episode says "Rob not FBI"
    "
I am not saying that the Morse doesn't say "Rob not FBI" but check out the link on "What's in the Basement" to a morse code translator and see if it does. I have the link there, but haven't correlated the two myself. I would feel a lot better if a contributor checked it out and reported back! Are you up to it? I'm not going to able to for a few days!

  • What about Hawkins? When Gray Anderson came back to Jericho he says that in NYC some guys were caught with a "20 Kiloton bomb in a steel drum" before the squeeze the trigger. I figure it out like the steel drum Hawkins carry during the fallout rain from a warehouse to his home. Then he build a wall around it in his basement. So, could Hawkins blow out Jericho if he wanted?

  • What we know He has contact with the outside world. He has a cache of weapon in a storage facility, (they look like military issued but I could be wrong) He has something in his basement. It looks like another bomb but we don't know for sure.

  • What do you thiink of this? Hawkins and his group of paramilitary rogue CIA/NSA agents are the ones that are supposed to deploy the bombs. A small faction of this group breaks away, picks small towns to take their families to, and 'defects'. This would explain the way he acted with the man from Denver that died from radiation poisoning. The rest of the rogues are still in contact with him because they don't know yet he didn't complete his mission. Hawkins thinks he safe in Jericho, that this group doesn't know where he is. It would make the satalite image of Hawkins and his son more significant because he now realizes that he cannot hide from them. Perhaps Jake was sent to find the rogue in Jericho. He used money as a cover with his family. He was going to Denver to try to stop the bombing there and it happened earlier than anyone thought it would. This would explain why the man Hawkings knew thought he had enough time to warn whoever he wouldnt leave behind. Just another theory, but it does make sense that Hawkins thought no one knew where he was, and now they do.

  • ok what we now know rob was or is CIA he was planing to take down the groupes responsable fro the bombing and he gave the groupes the IDs they needed to gain there trust. ok know for what i think happened rob got in to deep he couldent just walk away cuz if he did he would be killed for shur ( victor was working with him) and told him u cant just walk away now so rob did what he had to and he was given a bomb

I also think that rob was tricked into thinking he was working for the CIA because in his basement he matches up a man he remembers from a meeting to the old man that he has the satelite pic of who is beleved to be HLS doubty this because he was meeting with who evere shara was working for so what now ...

  • Its becoming less of what we were promised When we the fans were sold the idea of this series we were told it would be about life after a nuclear attack and how that would affect people. It was that way at first. now towards the end of the first half of season one we got something different. The series more and more is ignoring the effects of how a disaster like this would affect people. People look as fresh and clean cut as ever, fuel seems as plentiful as ever, etc... What we are getting are plain soap opera stories. much of the time the story is about basic issues of lust that have no bearing on the attacks. There is no mention of (serious) efforts being made to find out what happened. Obvious things are being ommitted like after 2 months, with the exception of the ravenwood incident and the airdrop there has been NO contact with the world at large. Shortwave and HAM radio would not be totally knocked off the air. With Jericho being on a highway not all that far away from Denver Jericho should have been a staging area for FEMA relief efforts. Hell the Canadian Military should have been in Jericho by the end of week 2 at the latest. So far the vast amount of effort has been who's lusting after whom with storylines like Hawkins and contact with the outside world taking a distant second place. Unless you plan on changing this trend don't plan on writing season 2.
Little by little this storyline is becoming the joke of the internet. You are ignoring all things related to the attacks, information gathering and recovery, myriad common sense items on survival in a post disaster area(the ice making trick was a notable exception there, kudos to that.). Terrorists exploding several nukes would not make the rest of humanity disappear in a flash, pardon the pun!
