"Tonight - March 11th, I got: "THO IT IS DARK" not sure why it is THO vs. THOUGH - but that is what I copied.

TD"
I also get
THO IT IS DARK
I'm thinking it has to fit in a certain number of seconds, so they abbreviate.
Wanna bet it is the first of a 2-part?

One thing tho, this one was a lot easier to copy the most of the others.

The person sending the Morse code is using a "straight key" (a manual telegraph key) and sends with a sloppy fist because he (or she) seems to be trying to sending the message to fit within the sound bite window they give him (or her). Some times when this person hurries up, he or she gets a little sloppy and bunches the 'dits' and the 'dahs' (we don't call them dots and dashes) together. That, combined with the music (usually the first character comes up during the "phwaaang" in the music) makes it hard to hear. It's also painfully slow, sometimes with not enough time between /or duration of the dits and dahs. Professional telegraphers (most have long retired) and most experienced hams use either an electronic iambic keyer, a mechanical keyer (a Vibroplex "Bug") or a computer to generate their Morse code ("CW") characters. These are a lot easier to copy.

They need to put that person in the credits.

Hast thou never been fetched from the den of lions? Hast thou never escaped from the jaw of the lion and the paw of the bear? Nay, O man, I know thou hast; go back, then, a little way, and take the mercies of yesterday; and THO IT IS DARK now, light up the lamps of yesterday, and they shall glitter through the darkness, and thou shalt find that God hath given thee a song in the night.

The finale code reads:
IS STILL THERE

to follow KNOW OUR FLAG from last week.

But yours would have been good, too!

Gone the way of many things in the military - horses, trenches, Signal Flaggs, Sabers & Swords. But, one day - it may be needed again - you never know.
