"I'm with Van on this one. No one really knows how the shows are doing until the Networks or Nielson releases them on their weekly release. Either way its not looking good for Jericho which is a huge bummer. Even with Bonnie's death and Mimi in the hospital it looks like they are getting ready to end it which is awful. However there are some rumors circulating that Jericho is doing well with Sci-Fi and TNT is also looking into picking up the show. Whatever happens I will follow Jericho to the end. Lets just all hope for the best!!!
"
Where did you hear that TNT is considering picking up Jericho? Would that be for new episodes/seasons, or just replaying previously aired episodes?

"Some good news on the ratings front. From the The Futon Critic (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20080304cbs04):

"JERICHO" AND "BIG BROTHER" ADD MILLIONS OF VIEWERS ACROSS MULTIPLE PLATFORMS

On-Air + Online + On-DVR = Many More Eyeballs and Double Digit Percentage Demo Increases

"Jericho" and "Big Brother" Viewer Engagement Across Multi-Platforms Is Far Greater Than Initial Same Day Ratings Indicate

On-air, online and on-DVR viewing are resulting in many more eyeballs for CBS series JERICHO and BIG BROTHER, according to Nielsen Live Plus 7-Day ratings and new data from CBS Interactive Research.

JERICHO:

According to Nielsen Live Plus 7-Day ratings, JERICHO's second season premiere (Feb. 12) ratings increased by +15% in adults 18-49 (3.0/07 from 2.6/07), +17% in adults 25-54 (3.5/08 from 3.0/07) and by more than one million viewers (8.14m from 7.13m, +14%) compared to its live plus same day ratings.

According to CBS Interactive Research, the second season premiere episode of JERICHO was streamed 520,000 times across the CBS Audience Network during its first week (Feb. 12-18) and 700,000 times over a 14-day period (Feb. 12-25).

JERICHO's other online engagement during its second season premiere week included 760,000 streams of episodes from its first season and 130,000 streams of various clips, upping JERICHO's first week cumulative streams to 1.41 million.

Additional online engagement for JERICHO that week included five times the volume of JERICHO searches vs. the prior four weeks, seven times the daily traffic to JERICHO message boards (compared to mid-January traffic) and three times the average daily blog posts."
WOW! Where did you find that information (website address?) and is it available for EACH week/episode? I'd like to know how Jericho did in the ratings for each episode this season...

"Ummm, DUH! Jericho isnt the type of show that you can have 5-8 seasons for! While i would love that, there is the simple problem.

Eventually, things would go back to normal, or as back to normal as possible after what happened. Even if the ratings were out through the roof of the ex-twin towers, theyd probally end it with season three! And how is it that SEVEN epsiodes constitutes a season? Its a mid season replacement!!

*wonders off looking for people willing to deal with reality*"
I agree. This is really a 3 or 4 season show. Its FANTASTIC though.
Really great stuff.

The address itself is right there, in what you quoted: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20080304cbs04

However, it's only a CBS press release. I read it over at The Futon Critic (www.thefutoncritic.com) , a TV blog. TV Addict (www.thetvaddict.com) and TV Squad (www.tvsquad.com) are also good sources of information.

These figures are not promising. It's a real shame, but at the current time i'm expecting to see episode 7 wrapping up Jericho, hopefully better than the last episode of carnivale wrapped up that series on HBO. Please, no deus ex machina endings. Give us something worthy of our time. 7  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree with Pipster, unfortunately, they wrote an ending for episode 7 that will leave us fans with some sort of closure. That don't want to leave us with another cliffhanger, only to find out that they have been canceled again. That's what brought about all of our protesting and nuts.

This show is the only show that I actually look forward to every week, with sweet anticipation of what is going to happen in the new episode. I absolutely love this show (watching Skeet every week doesn't hurt either!) I am hoping that they bring it back again for at least a mid-season again. They seem to do that with quite a few shows (Old Christine).

All we can do is watch and spread the word and hope that it doesn't end too soon. I think it could go on for a while, they have been rushing through this season, it would be nice to take some time of the situations and work with them some. Look at how much is ahead for Jericho and the new USA, there is plenty of plotlines out there!!!

Please, CBS.....keep it going!!!!!

Just give me a worthy ending in episode 7. While I agree with some people that say that this "parallel universe" could have infinite life, lets face it how many interesting things can happen to a small town in the middle of Kansas following a nuclear strike?

It is time to say "good run", and end it well.

"Jericho could certainly have 5-8 seaons. There are so many twists and turns to this story that Jericho could easily last for 5-8 seasons. Jericho has fantastic writers/directors and crew and an outstanding cast."
CBS has Announced by ET , Entertainment Tonight ,

That there will be no JERICHO , AT, Least On CBS , For further shows
beond the next 2 Eposodes.

I hope We Can Pre Swade JUCTION 97 PRODUCTION to
Find a better NETWORK WITH A LOYAL FAN BASE.

ALSO, I AGREE the show could play for 7-9 Seasons more
I think all of us would Jump for Joy.

I find the wording of their statement interesting, if that truly is what it was. The show is much better suited for SciFi or others. What ever network picks up Jericho, will atomatically get a huge boost in viewership. The only other show that I watch on CBS consistently is The Unit, for that matter, the only shows that I watch on any of the networks other then Sports are Jericho and The Unit. Primetime network TV is stale, PC, milktoast and will be dead to me after Jericho.

I just hope someone picks it up.

By the way, what were those guys thinking? Trying to grab Hawkins? I'm suprised he didn't kill both of them right off.

"Actually the premier hit 11.66 million viewers, not a runaway hit, but a 71% improvement over the shows in the same time slot last year (still standing/yes dear). Season 3 is still a dream, but with the shake-up of the writer's strike alot of shows with bigger-name talent are gone. A show like Jericho could be picked up agian if it does well enough in its time slot to sell advertising, and its lesser known actors don't get better offers. I upgrade our chances of seeing season 3 a few percentage points."
Now that's the way to look at it! Think POSITIVE! We can't just let a good show like Jericho stop like this.
There are many many places to go with a show like Jericho, many new plots to follow and who knows what a creative mind could come up with to continue this great show.
Another season could very well realistically happen with the writers being back to work now.
And speaking of selling advertising, I saw another thread that recommended we send thank you's to the folks who sponsored the show. I made a list of them and I'll add it here.
Y'all get busy now and send thank you emails to these fine sponsors and hopefully we can wrangle up some more episodes.
Here is the list of names of sponsors I got from another thread:
Bertoli Frozen Dinners
Lowes
The US Air Force
Dyson
Washington Mutual
Jenny Craig
Sprint
LG
Kraft Mac & Cheese
Nasonex
No Country For Old Men (the movie)
CBS Late Show
CBS Big Brother
Toyota
IKEA
Mercedes
CBS' "Survivor" & "Two and 1/2 Men"
Dodge Trucks

Lets email all the advertisers and thank them for supporting our show and that we will support their products!

The TNT rumors were going around last summer. They did show some interest, but in the end dropped the prospect, changing their focus on the Law & Order seriesn and other Crime dramas. that seems to be what people want these days.

Jericho could deffnitley have 8 seasons but after wrapping it up in this second season they wouldn't be able to do much better then a full third seasons. Because they're were honestly so many other twists that could have gone on between the beggining of the series and so far season 2.

I realized an excess of sprint advertising as opposed to the Nokia advertisments of the first season. Could spring have put serious funding in to get some advertising possibly to support a 3rd season. I noticed also that they said watch the season finale as opposed to series finale so this could be a serious sign of hope. They don't wanna close anything up.

Seriously they should produce hard goods. To promote the show they're are always commericals for 72 hour saftey kits that the government suggest we have why not make one with a Jericho tie in. Get Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott on some Entertainment Tonight and have a contest where guys can win a date with Ashley and girls can win a date with Skeet.

So many tie ins. Like gun companies could make a LTD edition rifle that is painted some other colour and call it the patriot or revolution in inpiration of Jericho.

Rangers clothing and equipment.

Lets keep this alive we can do it.
