40. RE: Season 3?

"The TNT rumors were going around last summer. They did show some interest, but in the end dropped the prospect, changing their focus on the Law & Order seriesn and other Crime dramas. that seems to be what people want these days."Tonight's episode still said season end, not series end. I still think that SciFi will pick it up next season. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Tonight's episode still said season end, not series end. I still think that SciFi will pick it up next season."I noticed they been saying season finale lately, BUT then again they are saying the Finale 2 episodes and not stating if of the season or the series. I guess they dont wana get hit by a massive lawsuit if they say Series end and another network takes it. And I dont like the idea of Sci-fi taken it, lately they've botched their line up and in the end lost their 2 power shows Stargate SG-1 and BSG since Sci Fi seems more interested in aquiring more ECW rights then umm Sci-fi shows? I mean it is the network that cancelled their longest running and one of the highest rated series, SG-1. I say go to FX, yes the seasons are 13 episodes and its a long break between seasons but they took a book out of BBC were they have the highest production value of any network and easily allow alot of content that alot of netowrks would say no before producers even thought of it. That kind of ease would really allow more growth for a story like Jericho to fully develop. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I agree with the premise that the show can go on. The writing is key. It is topical and entertaining. Perhaps CBS is running low on nuts to munch while they watch screenings? We should be kind and ask them by e-mail if they need more nuts.

"You know what with all ths info i think that maybe seince there not say series fanale i think another station like TNT or Si-Fi might pick it up i hope."I watched it last night and it was mentioned that there is one episode left and indicated it WAS the Season Finale. Now, what THAT means is another story. Did anyone notice that a lot of things went wrong for "Jericho" and it's characters? It appeared to me that last nights' episode was stangely different than previous one's. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

There was an article in Starlog Magazine with I believe was a producer. She stated that they make these seasons as story arcs. A lot of shows do these. Last season, there was the war, now is the build up to the revolution, and next will be the revolution (just guessing on the last one). She said they will end this storyline while leaving room for more.Personally, I believe CBS will bring it back. 7 million viewers are actually a lot compared to other shows out there. And CBS has been pushing it a lot; more so than other shows. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Has anybody heard anything about how the first show of the second season did ratings-wise? Is there any chance that Jericho will be returning for a full 3rd season? Maybe there's somebody out there that washes the car of the president of CBS and might have overheard something. Any info?"I contacted CBS using a FEEDBACK form and I'm putting the link in here. I asked them to continue the show and to let the viewers know if it will be continued for another season. I'll put the URL in this message so others who wish to see this show have another season may contact CBS as well. I hope you do. By using the power of our voices before we got another season abeit a short one but we got one. Please use the following URL to send your own feedback to CBS and ask them to give us more of JERICHO. Respectuflly, BecksGram ---Not the Beck on the show but my granddaughter Becca...: ) http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml Just copy and paste the URL into your browser to be taken directly to the feedback section on CBS. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. "Ratings-wise, I have seen both that Jericho is doing well, and that viewership is down.the problem with that is the CBS said that if they choose to end the series this season that the final episode will answer all the questions and everything - no cliffhanger - so it would be hard for another company to pick it up and be like "yeahhh that part didnt really happen..." 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Well they could just pull the Dallas / Bobby Ewing Shower stunt. "oh the last episode was a dream".CBS are in a no win as are we the fans. If the do not have a deal inplace to sell the series then how can they not complete it next week? Last thing they want are more complaints and more nuts. If they do leave it hanging and it does not get picked up then we're in a bad situation because we'll only ever be able to speculate on an ending. While some people would say great, others will bemoan the way J ended. In some ways CBS best play IF THEY are not picking it up for season 3 is to tie up all the ends. That's the cleanest outcome for them. If another channel picks it up then they'll just have to run with the concept and reopen some cans of worms, ala the Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Since i saw the last episode i believe they will continue with season 3 on CBS"No, I believe the network is not going to pick up Jericho for a third season, and they've reported that in all the trade papers that everyone in the industry reads. It's a done deal. I'm not too sure how the creative team stays together (actors want to work, etc) and moves to another venue. It would take something from inside the group. I was disappointed in the "reveal" where important admissions of responsibility were made over the cellphone with Hawkins, and after the show some people pointed out a lot of plot inconsistencies which had been the effect of haste and the need to jam everything into seven episodes with far less development than in the first season. It leaves me with the feeling that the last episode is going to be even more pressed to explain things (like that scene in Tootsie where Dustin Hoffman in a dress confesses to being "her" own brother in a the soap opera he's in) -- apparently soap operas sometimes pop like that at the end, leaving behind those spotted goblets, so to speak... This does not mean I dislike the show, far from it. It's just that they have a lot more to say and only an hour to say it in. They're never going to go out on the serious and yet hopeful note they need to. It will seem like a sort of untimely death. Of course it would be great if they got more scope for invention. I wish them well. You might wonder how and why other shows have lasted. What essential element is needed to prevail? Live and learn. 3 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Yea well think like that and it wont but i believe it will last"I'm not sure what you are talking about. It isn't how you think about Jericho. Thinking doesn't make things so. To keep Jericho telling its interesting stories, it has to pull up stakes and find another venue, perhaps a cable station. CBS isn't as successful as some of the other networks at getting ratings, so they don't have as many sponsors willing to take a chance. Another possibility for Jericho might be to do a series of specials (Perry Mason did that). Or maybe to have a film with all the elements worked in, as well as some resolution. It might even be novelized. But the show of seven episodes was hastily assembled, and weakened in its plotlines. Sure, people fall in love with the characters, and it's like the soaps that way, but the characters don't entirely drive this story. It's a mix of characters and consistent plotlines. Plot does not have to be "real world" credible, it only has to be consistent. Some people might well imagine that this could happen. I think it could. But some might just enjoy it as a fantasy. "I believe it will last" expresses the hope that it will. But one's emotions do not exactly affect the cold hearts of bean counters at the networks, once they have made up their minds about something. It is now the job of the creative team to find a new sugar daddy so they can get back to work on the show we so enjoy. 1 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Does anyone else question the rating system? How is it a bunch of reruns are getting higher ratings than first runs? Then theres that crap of American Idol that seems to keep getting more and more viewers every time WHY? I turned it on 1 time for maybe 2 min. and wanted to take a shotgun to my TV."JWolf, I can relate to what you posted.
