While Jennings and Rall could resemble Halliburton, there is another association I have in mind. Remember the Valerie Plame affair in which a CIA operative was outed? She worked for a front company called Jennings and Something, didn't she? They were doing what? Tracking nuclear proliferation. And also watching out for oil trades. I think the oil may be used to buy nukes or so they thought. Remember how Mimi commented on the porcelain skin of the accountant woman at Jennings? Very Valerie Plame. So there's this notion you can work for a secret organization with hidden agendas, but be a not very bad person (seemingly). In a drama, it's to keep you guessing. In real life -- it is harder ever to resolve, because you are not an insider, and even if you were, you could not know it all. Ravenwood - clearly Blackwater, an organization which not only provided security in Iraq, but also did so domestically in New Orleans, for rich people who in an instant decided that the common people were the enemey, when Katrina hit. Isn't that a little warning to us all? Ever see a car chase in LA? I saw one on tv in which just because this apparent criminal was going through the neighborhood, all of a sudden the locals (not just the ones cheering him on) became The Enemy. Folks, it doesn't take a whole lot. And that is what Jericho is partly saying. The price of liberty....is that you have to stay up on all the tricks and all the shifts in perception. You never know when you will suddenly be considered an unfriendly by Authority. So watch your backs.

Oh, yes, that's Brewster Jennings which was the CIA front organization exposed when Plame was outed. That people within our government did so, because they were not hearing what they wanted to hear about a casus belli (reason to go to war) with Iraq, shows that you can have significant and even deadly infighting in a government such as the one we actually has. I do not believe it is a monolith. But it is important to understand that you don't know where the infighting is going, or who really wanted the cover of an organization like Brewster Jennings to be blown. Nevertheless, common sense indicates that a lot of people in CIA anticipated the mess we have today in Iraq, and they thought going to war there was a bad idea. There is another reference to a real life person in the latest episode. The reporter who winds up dead, who won a Pulitzer while on the LA Times, who says there are now no more reporters, and who works on the Modesto Bee is modeled on a real reporter, Gary Webb,. Webb had the goods on Iran Contra and the fact that the government tolerated cocaine sales in LA because the vendors were Nicaraguan Contras. His excellent book came out just before he killed himself. You see the story ran in the San Jose Mercury News, whose editor - not as strong as Ben Bradlee at the Washington Post which brought down NIxon ("Two guys with a typewriter -- Woodward and Bernsterin) - caved into pressure to retract and apologize for Gary Webb's story. Webb went to work for the Sacramento Bee, and then shot himself twice in the head. Yeah, a reporter like that certainly belongs to be immortalized in the public mind in Jericho. Too bad he isn't as known as Woodward and Bernstein -- he would have brought down Reagan and Bush I. And then where would we be?

"I know this might be a stretch, but I think the ASA (or parts of it) were a part of the attacks. Think about it, shortly after the attacks, this new goverment suddenly formed, began expanding thier terrority, changed the flag, and within weeks were handing out new history books with thier point of view on US history. (The heading on the page that the mayor looks at reads "The fall of the first republic 1945-present" and has chapters on every major conflict and for some reason the Nixon years). That is what happened with the ASA goverment, [ [ J&R ] [ Ravenwood ] other wise the GOVERMENT of the ASA ] ] They are trying to wipe out all History [ The time Line of all Events, before the Nucular Bombs went off. Install their oun History of the [ ASA Goverment ] to justify their own Rules and Regulation. That is why [ J&R/ RAVENWOOD ] Wants to Monitor all Supplies and Moneys To keep the thumb on everything, Plus, They are willing to Kill any and all That apposes them. I like the idea of comparing Trish to the outed CIA agent, I keep thinking she is to nice of girl to be working for J&R, maybe she will turn out to be an agent of some sort. or at the very least will turn on her employers.
