What happened to Canada?
Mar 6 2008, 8:29 PM EST I think the effects of the attacks on Canada would have been strongly felt North of the Border. The economic impact would be such that Canada would have to turn to the European Union, Japan, or China for assistance. All major Canadian cities would be left intact except for Windsor, Ontario. If there were a nuclear blast in Detroit, Windsor would also take a direct hit considering they are just across the Detroit River. Thousands on the Ontario side would also be killed or injured. The survivors would have to be evacuated. The Federal government in Ottawa would likely declare a State of Emergency nationwide out of fear that Canada maybe next for a terrorist attack. The EMP blast affected only those in extreme Southern Canada (within 50-100 miles of the border). As far as who is Canada going to support between the American factions, it would be too early to tell. Most likely, Canada would sit it out until either the Eastern States or the ASA comes out on top. Any Canadian theories out there? 8 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: What happened to Canada?
Mar 7 2008, 12:11 PM EST I wondered this also. They would take a huge hit economically. Also they would face a huge refugee problem. I am a little frustrated that the series never lets us know what is going on outside of America, aside from Iran and NK getting nuked off the planet and the International community doing nothing after the attacks! 3 out of 3 found this valuable. RE: What happened to Canada?
Mar 7 2008, 2:33 PM EST If anything, they would definitely close off the border between Canada and what is left of America. Since J&R parked their airplanes in Canada, there is no question that Canada was not attacked with the exception of Windsor. Getting slightly off the topic, if any country would benefit from the breakup of the United States, it would be China. The result of the September nuclear attacks would catapult China as the sole superpower in the World. Just my view. Since America is crippled, the Chinese would take full advantage of the situation and position itself as a power. Perhaps China via J&R were involved in the attacks? J&R have offices in China you know. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
