The World War II planes & American parachutes used.
Dec 13 2006, 11:14 PM EST The only reason the World War II planes were used to drop the food and other supplies is only, and I repeat only because they were and are not suseptible to the EMP that was used in an earlier episode. The only things that work after such a device being used is those without onboard computers. Thus, that is why the character Jake Green is driving around in an old Dodge and why the only other vehicles you see being used are those that do not have onboard computers or those that could not have been affected by that EMP. To let yourself believe that the use of World War II planes is something to key in on without considering the fact they were not affected by the EMP would be a mistake. Now the thing to clue in on as far as the types of planes used would be, who or what country would continue to maintain and operate such types of aircraft and for what reason? As far as American parachutes and anything else that was used, anything like that can be found or is available on the black market or through military supply depots, if you have the connections and/or the cash. Just posting something else to keep in mind as the writers of this like the writers of "24" and "Lost" do there best to keep up the suspense to keep us glued to the "BOOB TUBE".... to assure we'll be back for the next episode/s and or season/s. 13 out of 18 found this valuable. RE: The World War II planes & American parachutes used. EMP
Dec 18 2006, 12:19 PM EST Hollywood Loves the EMP as a catch all. All Current Modern Day Military electronics have provisions built in to protect them from an EMP blast resulting from a Nuke Detonation. So military equipment, radios and vehicles not destroyed by the blast should be functional. WWII planes may be used to supply aid to civilians simply to better utilize modern warfare aircraft to fight off aggressors. 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

These are from the Cold War era, you know after Russia was no longer an Ally? I totally agree that the parachutes could come from anywhere however. I think that the idea that this is not some form of insurrection or civil war is hard to ignore. Simply because many nations and ideologies would want to nuke the US does not mean they could! Mar 20 2007, 4:26 AM EDT An EMP would knock out any thing that has electronics on it. An EMP wave does not only effect computers. hahahaha.. The distributor on your car would be effected... lol The military shields most of their equipment from EMP effects. As does key goverment agencies. Do you find this valuable? |
