RE: china fighter planes
Feb 20 2007, 2:01 AM EST Here's a more interesting question...why would they drop food on Jericho at all? It's a fly over town in the middle of the country - roughly 300 miles from Topeka or Denver. They probably have silos full of grain or corn and they're farm folks so they have plenty of food stored away anyway (who doesn't when the big city is 200 plus miles away)? THEN, there's the question of the population - 5000 folks is a big number for the boonies, so again, given their remote location, they must have some warehouses and Gracie's little store isn't the only place where 5000 people get their groceries. Jericho would qualify for a Supermarket, several fast food and restaurants, and maybe even a WalMart. Unless of course the jerk of a Mayor is land grabbing the numbers as he tries to annex nearby small towns. Whatever, again, if the relief workers have the time and resources to drop several bags of food on the flyover towns, they must be doing wonders in the big cities tha survived - e.g. San Antonio, Austin, Dallas - All over a million - dry up that supply line and you have more to worry about than wether the folks in Jericho have eigh pallets of food. Do you find this valuable? |

"Here's another interesting thought: if China and others are dropping food in America, that's got to make the bombers (who ever they are) angry. Maybe China is fighting a war to defend America or something... Well, since Black Jack we know the Germans aren't the terrorists, because Ted said that they got food from Germany. Hey, let's say Korea, China, and Germany are all innoncent. (Korea, because the planes were Korean.) Say they are working together to help America. All these countries are somewhat unexpected helpers. Thus it would make more sense that whoever dropped the bombs were people which America trusted, allies...like the UK or Austrailia, or maybe Italy. Of course, some people are saying it was the Americans who did this to their own country. That would be unexpected and stupid...If someone in America wanted to take over America they wouldn't have had to bomb every city; it would be esier to just kill the president and other people in postions of power. Just a thought... Do you find this valuable? |

Jan 26 2008, 11:10 AM EST They weren't Migs. Not a Mig 21, there was no gap between the trailing edge of the Delta Wing and the Vertical Stab. They look like F-102s actually. President GW Bush's old plane. And the cargo planes were Hercs. C-130s. "And the Italians flying on our borders during 9/11." That was funny. Do you find this valuable? |

Jan 26 2008, 2:58 PM EST The C_130's where called goonie birds during the Vet.War, and could take off and land on 600ft. of runway. So why can't they land on the nearst highway and drop cargo? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: china fighter planes
Jan 27 2008, 10:50 AM EST Actually, the C-47s were called the gooney birds. The old DC-3's. Hercs have had many nicknames, Spectre, Spooky, Herk, Fat Albert, but the Gooney Bird was the old C-47. Now you could land and drop cargo, assuming you had a road long enough. And you'd really want at least 3000 ft of runway, but doing a cargo drop is safer. You don't have to worry about power lines. You don't have to worry about the road not having the strength to have a 130,000+ aircraft land on it. Having the road sink upon landing would not be fun. And you'd burn less gas, than having to take off again. Just slow down below 150kts, open the ramp and jettison the cargo. Remember, they have to still fly back to their base.
