While some shows may have low ratings, producers seem to forget the long life of these programs, fans, and lingering DVD and Blu-ray sales. It provides perpetual revenue for years to come.
Case in point, I never saw "Jericho" when it aired, I was told about it by a friend. I'm now watching the entire series again, for the third time.
It is shows like this, is why "Falling Skies" on TNT is such a success. Network execs seem stunned, go figure.
There was at one time, talk of a follow up movie on "Jericho", on again-off again, any update on this?

Jericho's ratings weren't THAT bad - it was apparently cancelled for "other" reasons (?). I watched it from the beginning, and over and over and over again since - on TV re-runs and the DVDs I bought! After all these years, I still can't let it go! It has ruined me; I compare every other show to it! Nothing else has ever matched up. I watched/liked "Falling Skies", but, still, it's no "Jericho"! My pie-in-the-sky hope is that, somehow, the show will be picked up by someone and continue (with the same cast!). Aside from that, I'd take a movie (and I, too, would like to know if there is an update on that). Do you find this valuable?

I agree with both of you. A couple of years ago I was on the NCIS Wiki site and noticed a great hoopla over the fact that their site after 7 seasons had just crossed 65,000 fan members. Jericho was on for a season and a half and had over 60,000 members on this site alone in less than 2 years. I like NCIS, I like the interaction of the characters and some of the story plots are unique but lets admit that it is still another "cop" show with a twist. We can only hope that Jericho becomes another Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, even Batman, which was a TV series I couldn't stand when it came up. With that said, look at the Batman movies that have come since then. We've got to keep spreading the word. Last Christmas I ordered up a handful of Jericho complete DVD sets and gave them as presents. I don't know if it helped much but it made me feel like I was contributing something. I see I'm not the only one who buys extra Jericho DVD's and graphic novels for Christmas and birthday presents. I some times feel like I'm a dealer passing out free samples to get them hooked. Seems like once anyone gets a taste of Jeicho they want more. Do you find this valuable?
