Eric's only role appears to be as a foil to Jake (can he out-hero him? Is he Dad's fave?). I mean, my husband and I have a bet - he bet that Eric is a doctor and I bet he is a cop, and now I read he is actually Dep. Mayor!?! So that goes to show that he is a bit of an enigma. Then again, post-apocolypse, I suppose it doesn't matter too much what a person's paid job was before, does it?
I for one like him. At least, he is an interesting character, a good parallel for the perennial fave Jake.

It says that he finds out that April is pregnant but still decides to be with Bar mamma Mary. When did he find this out??

Eric is a whiner!! As for his pre apocolyptic Job? Daddies Boy, Deputy Mayor? One thing is for certain he hasn't an original thought i his head! Let him and Mary be together and as for Poor April she will survive and be fine. Mary and Eric who cares. He needs a set of Kahunnas for himself and not Mommies or Daddies all the time.

No that doesn't show he is an enigma, it only shows you weren't paying attention. Eric's role was made clear from the beginning.
