I know it's TV and I want to like this show...but
- there's always water on the ground in town, even when people are freezing to death?
- how did they get to the car to escape with 100's of refugees around them in the "trading post"?
- why didn't the guards shot them while they were crashing the gate?
- this whole story line about the black chic is incredilus?
- the question below about the where is the rest of the US military overseas (and at home) is very abt.

While I don't think Jericho has gotten lame, I do think that the slow down in pacing compared to before the break has turned some people off. I find myself flipping channels during the show, which I never used to do. I only hope they start expanding on some things soon, much like Heroes did. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

"THIS IS GETTING LAME!"
There is no way this show is getting lame!

Could it be that neigh sayers are unable to stay glued to the show due to a lack of ability to concentrate? To pick up on subtle clues within the episodes....?

Verily, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of my brain
I will think no thought...for wish all to be clear
thy storyline must be all revealing...for it is my way not to think
thou preparest a complicated script for all to view
thy storyline escapest me....my brain runn-if overtime.....
surely goodness and mercy will follow me
and the script shalll be lowered to my easy understanding.

I mean no blasphemy...I am only using verse to point out as franfan has done so well also... that we shouldn't expect to get everything on a "siver platter" ...this isn't a sitcom where no thought is required...this is a mystery where thought is number one. Half the fun is figuring the storyline out...and I won't care if I'm wrong...truly....well maybe a little bit :)

I have to somewhat agree. What is getting on my nerves is the impression that Jeicho is a microcosm of the U.S., in that the impression is given that ALL of the U.S. is without power and the population is wandering around as shabby refugees. OK, about 10 or so capital cities were taken out. What about all the other cities in between? Example: Syrcuse, NY, Athens, GA, San Antonio, TX, Tampa, FL, Albany, GA, Springfield, IL, Nashville, TN, Williamsport, PA , Boise, ID, etc... Did all these cities just curl up and die? Did they build a wall around themselves? If I were the mayor of Jericho, I'd tell everyone to "pack up, gas up and arm up, we're having a convoy and heading to another city." As for the military overseas, as a veteran who spent 8 years in NATO, I'm sure they are on maximum high alert and hunkered down. Also, I'd like to know just who we fired our missles at during the end of that one episode when they came ot of the bar at night to see them launched. Do you find this valuable?

Truely WELL SAID, you cant give out all of the story in one lump sum. But everyone has to admit that some of the minor details, regarding everyday life in post-nuke America, do seem to become lost in the telling of the story.
One element that does bother me is that the viewer should be cautious and not blend fantasy and reality too closely.

WELL PUT THINKING GUY AND SANDBAGGER! This is a drama. What keeps viewers coming back is to see where the story goes, where the tease at the end of the previous weeks episode takes us. Who was in the wrong? Where do we stand as a nation? How do we survive? Thats why I keep coming back. Give me answers too quick and it will be boring to watch.

It reminds me of a comment made on "The Nanny" in one episode: "theres no mystery involved. Its like watching Columbo. 10 minutes into the show you know who did it, then you spend the rest of the hour trying to figure out which one is the glass eye" IF theres nothing for us to watch, why watch? We need an ongoing story, something to last more than 1 season.

Also, to all that are saying that some story lines are dragging on OR that the show is not addressing daily life in a post apocalyptic society, I think the show is. IE: BLACKJACK. This episode dove into daily survival very strongly. I tend to think that as future episodes air, more and more we will see how the residents are surviving. Look at the fall season this way: They had to tell a railroad paced story to hook us, now they can get deeper into personal story lines.

Thanks sandbagger.....and also thanks for the admonition "not to blend fantasy and reality". That is well and truly correct!

I think you're right franfan the pace will now change. We have been set in a place out of the mainstream(Jericho) , where you could hardly expect to "be in the know". The challenge now is to balance supense with the fact that even after what happened the most provincal locale would have a good handle on what happened 4 to 6 months out(depending on the devastation of course).
