Questions needing answered:
6 capitals are known: Sacramento, Cheyene, San Antonio, Montgomery, Columbus, and Albany.
Of the two, Cheyene and San Antonio are probably controlled by surviving units of the US Military and are most likely Military dictatorships. The Cheyene faction probably launched the missles in Federal Response. I would think that the origin of the EMP bomb wouldn't be with one of the factions considering that destroying every electronic device would make re-establishing control more difficult.
Albany is the probable location of the Undersecretary of Homeland Security and is probably the most legitimate clamant to the Presidency. In Military terms, they are known as the NCA or National Command Authority. Our Military factions are most likely waiting it out to see which politican make the best case before they ally themselves with whoever. Constitutionally, all of the successors were most likely killed in the DC blast, but the NCA is under statute and law and not the Constitution.
Our various Senators who are claiming the Presidency are probably claiming it under the principle of President Pro tempore of the Senate, being the oldest member of the Senate. Who controlls what?
Also, how much area do these various factions effectively control? Do claims overlap, or are they like Jericho, only controling an area maybe 20-30 miles around the town? It would be nice to see a map.
The most important thing, how much military effectiveness do these factions have? Have they threatened each other or are they fighting? I would think they are concentrating on survival in this initial stage. After the winter, and the starvation that follows it, then we will see what will happen.
Another important thing - Is the leader of one of the factions the actual perpertrator of the whole operation? Is Ravenwood a facilitator, hired to do the operation? Or is the head of Ravenwood heading one of the factions or is he controlled by Ravenwood?
Post away!

"mabye we'll learn more when the marines come."
They'll have to say who they're working for or which faction they belong to. I WANT TO SEE A MAP SOO BAD! We know the capitals but not what states or areas they control. As great as the Black Jack map was, It didn't say the overall picture, like are we at war and with who. It didn't say which capital was theirs or if they had a military presence in the faction. All i saw was that these delegates were going to this capital and such. A board saying the overall condition of the nation (as in borders, who are we fighting, etc) would have been nice.

I think winter will sort out who is going to survive. The problem is that food is so scarce, that people are starving to death and getting desperate. In the last episode, we saw the after effects of a whole town moving south, probably 1,000 people. You will probably see whole towns, maybe even cities doing that. No people are more than three meals away from revolution. You have to think of the cities. Maybe the "Pray for New York" was the fact that there waa mass starvation there. People will riot if they are hungry.

I think the map really would be very fluid at the moment. Its still a little fresh and things haven't settled down. By Spring in the world of Jericho, we will see what has happened. I hope this isn't a one season wonder where we never get to find out what happens. I HATE when that happens.

Tell me about it. So many of my favorite shows have ended their seasons with a huge cliffhanger, like this show is capable of doing, only to be cancled in a few months. But this show has done better than the others, i think. But it still worries me.

How and were these discussed and determined, if you don't mind briefly rehashing?

In the Episode "Black Jack", the "Fairgrounds map" had stars for each of the capitals. Wikipedia has synopsis of the episode at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Jack_%28Jericho_episode%29 Do you find this valuable?
