The show has been giving subtle hints that the country is not going to have a peaceful reunification (Black Jack, Semper Fi, Rogue River are all examples of this), so perhaps this is where we will see just how far the violence will go. Both sides have reason to fight each other: Jericho will want their people and the windmills, and New Bern will want food. This could get messy... 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

How right you are ! The cause of war is food and mainly the ranting of a mad man. Remember Hitler? He ranted for more room, blamed the Jews for German failings, and brought slanted evidence against the Jews. This is exactly what the New Bern Sheriff has done....he covets the land and food of Jericho and to raise anger among the people of New Bern he has produced slanted evidence against the "sons of Jericho"! Do you find this valuable?

Exactly! This fight will not be pretty. Because the people are starving, he knows their desperate and has totally brainwashed them. Therefore, they're pretty much going to fight for the death.

AND WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SOO CLOSE TO THE END OF THE SEASON?! ONLY TWO MORE EPISODES LEFT?! THEY'RE BETTER BE A SECOND SEASON!

God i hate cliff hangers! The only way i like them is if i know another season is on the way.

This is called Propoganda and Hitler and his henchmen did this oh so cunningly! Hard to believe that it worked but it did all too well. And this type of Propoganda is still being used today. New Bern is just using a well worn form of it to their own advantage. History always repeats itself...and this is no exception.

How right you are Anonymous, history always repeats itself. The irony is that most people don't understand history and are therefore doomed to repeat it! Even those who read it, do not always recognize the 'strands of the past' because they are caught up in the moment and miss the connection.
