Henry Wadsworth poem of Paul Revere which harkens back to the Revolutionary War. In that poem it says..." On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five; "....the episode "Casus Belli" takes place on April 18th! Should we look for both the cause of the larger war(bombs) in that episode and the smaller Kansasan War, which may become our New Revolutionary War, in that episode? Who will be the modern day Paul Revere? Will we begin to fight back as did our forefathers?......"By using a system of signals and word-of-mouth communication news that the regulars had arrived spread quickly. At "Lexington Green", the regulars were met by 77 American minutemen (named "minutemen" because they could be ready for battle in a minute), and, at "Concord", the regulars were forced to march back to "Boston" with the "Americans" firing on them all the way. This was the beginning of the "American Revolution." Quotes becuse WE are in a new day...history may well repeat itself in OUR time!

Some very good theories about the correlation between the show and the poem, especially the date!
Since most communications have been knocked out, this seems like a plausible means to send word from place to place. It worked very well way back then and could surely work now too! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

You just got me thinking, Back in the times of the Templar Knights, there fortress' were located high enough, and just far enough apart, so that a constant light would be visible at all times. If the fortress was in trouble, or under seige, extinguishing the light was a signal to the other fortresses, as either a call for help, or a warning. how does this work for you? Do you find this valuable?

It may be Stanley since Stanley is the only one that will know Jakes whereabouts when everyone starts to realize he isnt around. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I think Hawkins is "Paul Revere". I also think this is the time to bring out the tank! Do you find this valuable?

I'm here. I say we invade them and liberate the brainwashed townspeople. I think the sight of a tank entering the middle of town would get the sheriff and his men to poop their pants.

Glad to see you're around. Yeah, I think it would upset them some(a lot)...but as you all have been talking about elsewhere.... do we and how do we get shells? And BTW how far away is New Bern? Do you find this valuable?

I haven't seen how far it is. But i stated somewhere else about ammo for it. Maybe we could stuff grenades or some other explosive down the barrel to use. Someone else said that could work and something similar had been done with dinomite(don't know if thats spelled right) and steam to launch it with on a battle ship somewhere in the past.

I'm no expert at all on this..but you need a propellant to launch the grenade...which BTW would need it's own fuse or the shock of coming out of the barell would explode the gernade then and there. Do you find this valuable?

I think thats where the steam came into play on the ship. They were using steam power to launch the explosives out of the barrels on the ship. How they got it i don't know. How they set the explosives to explode on contact i don't know. But this is tv..............

I'm not the best expert on all of this either. It would seem easier to use dynomite though than to spend days making home-made tank ammo.

you know, I think something like this could be what happens.
Maybe not with the tank, but I hope that in the end, war is avoided and the town mmake an alliance to support and protect one another. The one has the food and other has the technology and both have hard working people with brains and heart.

We would all hope in a real world situation that two neighboring towns would find a way to co-exist, to help each other out. Isnt that one of the main questions arising from Jericho? How do we survive? What becomes important? Do we watch out for only ourselves and ours? Or do we act as
Americans should and unite, to where NO ONE could defeat us.

We haven't discussed this, but the hospital is short of medical supplies, that implies that certain other medications for heart disease, diabetes, and getting to the point....psychotropic drugs for people with schizoprenia(spelling minus 1), paranoia, and other psychologocal disorders are certainly in short supply! In a stressed out environment like this, everybody and particularly people with those disorders, without the medication, are going to freak. I think we have a need for a Chinese airdrop of generic Lithum, Prozac, and other medications of that type! Do you find this valuable?

New Bern has suffered alot, and it would be understandable that the town is going through some mass PTSD. But with the break down of outside government, the building of feifdoms would be a logical outcome. iIjust did not expect this to occure so quickly following the bombings. Do you find this valuable?
