What a senseless waste! They killed off the best actor on the show! If the show even gets renewed it won't be as good without McRaney. He was that town. Also...I hate cliffhangers like this when CBS knew they we less than 50% likley to renew the show. If they don't renew a lot of people are going to be pissed.

I agree! Why get rid of an excellent actor, who knew what to do? He and Skeet were the only two who knew what to do and how to handle things!Wouldn't it be great it they just PRETENDED that Gerald McRaney died, and he came out to help them fight! What about Hawkins? What about Heather? What about Eric - he's been deputy Mayor for years. What about a lot of other people in town who can step up to fill Johnston's shoes?
