About that episode on the Twilight Zone, the title of it was "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" .They redone that episode again for the new Twilight Zone a few years ago as well and in that version it was the US Government that was behind it as for it was a test to see what the results would be if in case of a major terrorist attack would take place.
